Post-doctoral Fellow and Research Scientists Positions in Biofuel Processing, Biological, and Agricultural Engineering, Masdar Institute of Science and Technology,UAE
Masdar Institute of Science and Technology (MI) in collaboration with industry partners (Boeing, UOP Honeywell and Etihad Airways) has launched a multi-year research project into the challenges behind the large-scale cultivation of halophytic plants in arid environments for the sustainable production of fuels and co-products. As part of the SBRP, a 200 hectare demonstration facility will be constructed to conduct research into Integrated Seawater Agriculture Systems (ISAS) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This research-oriented ISAS pilot project will focus on integrating the key components of ISAS, including an inland seawater river, aquaculture, halophyte agriculture, and mangrove silviculture. One of the main objectives is to develop a system that can produce a feedstock for Biojet fuel derived from halophytes, in addition to other co-products.
Masdar Institute is currently seeking to fill multiple positions for qualified research staff to support the implementation of the ISAS project.
Post-doctoral fellows and Research Scientists with relevant research experience in halophytes, aquaculture, saline agriculture, mangrove silviculture, coastal/arid ecosystems, or biofuel processing are invited to apply. Preference will be given to applicants with a PhD in these or related fields. Salary and compensations will be internationally competitive and based on experience.
