Post Graduate Scholarship and Post Doctoral Fellowship for International Students in Wool Related Studies, Wool Research Organisation of New Zealand.
Applications are invited for these awards from people interested in pursuing a career that contributes to the sustainable development of the New Zealand Wool Industry. The priority areas of research are in all aspects concerning functionality and value of wool post farm-gate.
A Post Doctoral Fellowship: This award is available for one or two years and provides for a stipend of up to $65,000 plus a $10,000 research grant.
Two Post Graduate Scholarships: These awards are available for three years study to achieve a PhD degree. They provide for an annual stipend of $25,000, tuition fees, a research grant and a travel grant to attend an international conference.
The organisers reserve the right to award either or both awards in any one year subject to applications being of a sufficiently high standard. Applications are welcomed from international scholars who have the required academic qualifications.
The New Zealand Wool Industry is at the cutting edge of wool textile research, and these awards are intended to ensure that the industry remains a global leader in the future. It is expected that a level of collaboration with AgResearch Ltd, Lincoln Research Centre may be required, but applicants may undertake study at any appropriate New Zealand organisation including Universities and Crown Research Institutes.
