Postdoc in Immunology Freiburg, Germany 2008
The Postdoctoral position is funded by the new excellence cluster “Biological Signalling Studies” for an initial period of one year with the potential of being extended for 2 – 3 additional years. The successful applicant will study human B cell development in humanized mice generated by the transplantation of human hematopoietic stem cells.
Applications require a PhD in immunology, solid experiences in the experimental analysis of human B cells, experiences in working with mice and a record of publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
The salary including fringe benefits is about Eur 58 000/year.
The Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg is one of the Excellence Universities in Germany. Our group is part of the Department of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology and has a long record on B lymphocyte development and human primary immunodeficiencies. Our modern research lab is located in the Central Clinical Research Building.
Freiburg is a nice and medieval University town in the South West of Germany in the Rhine valley close to the Black Forest allowing many activities including skiing in winter and hiking in summer. The city is close to France (25 km) and Switzerland (60km). Major European cities like Paris (4h) or Berlin (7h) can easily be reached by train.
