Postdoc Position

The Department of Immunology – Medical School of the Friedrich-Schiller- Universität Jena (UKJ) invites applications for a postdoc position.

Salary: approximately € 45,000 depending on experience.

Starting date: June 2010. The position will initially be supported for three years by an interdisciplinary program funded by the BMBF.

Of particular interest are immunologists with proven expertise in biochemistry, molecular biology or cellular immunology. Furthermore, researchers interested in interactions of the immune system with the nervous system will allow us to complement our interdisciplinary network. However, demonstrated excellence in research is more important than the area of research. The primary criteria for appointment will be academic performance as well as a high potential for rigorous and substantial research and fruitful collaboration.

The successful candidate will join an interactive group of researchers in state-of-the-art research facilities with cutting edge equipment. The position offers the opportunity to mentor graduate students with a strong interest in basic science and translational research.
