A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately in Jiangnan University, China. The laboratory studies the pathogenesis of neuropsychiatric disorders such as dystonia, sleep disorders including insomnia and restless legs syndrome, Alzheimer disease, and schizophrenia.

The aim is to understand the pathophysiology and to develop the novel clinical treatment for these disorders. The laboratory currently has one full professor, two associate professors and one lecture, each has active, externally funded, and independent research program. The fellow will be exposed to multidisciplinary approaches that include biochemistry, anatomy, electrophysiology, fMRI imaging, behaviour analysis, and neurochemistry. Requirements of the position: 1. Recent graduate with or expected to have a doctoral degree in neurobiology, pathophysiology of disease, genetics, biochemistry, biology or other related disciplines, and who has published at least one (Impact Factor?2.0) or two (IF? 1.0) first author papers in reputable journals. 2. The candidate should have strong interests and passion in neurobiology research, ability to work independently and with other team members, and good communication skills in English. Salary is highly competitive at the university’s special seventh teacher post (associate professor level, with pre-tax income up to $24,500 / year). The cost of living at Wuxi is quite low. Health insurance and a $4,250 settlement fee will be provided. About $7,000 will be deposited annually to a Provident Fund to help future purchase of an apartment in China. Heavily subsidized on-campus apartment ($20 per month) will be available during the 2-year training period.
