Eligibility: –PhD in veterinary science or biomedical science
-Expertise and experience in primary cell culture, mesenchymal stem cells, flow cytometry, gene expression analysis, histology, and protein analysis including immunohistochemistry
-Understanding of inflammatory pathways in musculoskeletal tissues
-Understanding of how anti-inflammatory drugs target inflammatory pathways
-Ability to relate molecular findings on a cellular level to a clinical and commercial setting
-Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
-Demonstrated capacity for effective teamwork
-Proven ability to work independently and structured
-Ability to meet deadlines and milestones while maintaining a high academic level

Scholarship Description: At Department of Veterinary Clinical and Animal Sciences, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, a position as Postdoc in veterinary anatomy and biochemistry is available from 1 August 2013 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is in the group of Principal Investigator L.C. Berg and Professor P.D. Thomsen at the School of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. Dr. Berg and Dr. Thomsen has collaborated in the field of musculoskeletal tissue regeneration and mesenchymal stem cells since 2004. The group focuses on the horse as a model for musculoskeletal conditions.

What does it cover? Salary, pension and terms of employment are in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Academics Central organization. The salary depends on seniority, as agreed between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The gross basic salary range for Postdoctoral Fellows is DKK 31,821 to DKK 33,503 per month (level 6 to 8). To the basic salary a supplement could be negotiated, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. An additional 17.1% monthly contribution to pension will be paid by the employer.
