Scholarship Description: KITAre you talented, creative and highly motivated biologist? Do you want to work on an exciting, innovative and very challenging project? We want you to be part of our interdisciplinary team. High-throughput screening of live cells is extremely important to significantly accelerate both fundamental biological research and discovery of new drugs. However, current methods for high-throughput cell screenings are limited and expensive. Screening of single cells is especially challenging. Recently we demonstrated the use of superhydrophobicsuperhydrophilic micro arrays to create ultra high-density arrays of micro droplets (Droplet Microarrays). We believe that this method will become soon a new platform for ultra high-throughput screening of live cells. The new technology will allow us to perform up to 300.000 individual cell experiments in parallel using a single chip. Individual cell experiments will be performed in thousands of completely isolated droplet micro reservoirs at defined locations on the chip. This will enable spatial indexing, time-lapse measurements and screening of single cells.

How to Apply: The mode of applying is electronically. info-at-levkingroup.com. Applications (CV and a cover letter explaining the reason for qualifying for this project) should be sent to info-at-levkingroup.com indicating “postdoc-cell screening” in the subject.
