Postdoctoral Position, Department of Molecular Biology , Turkey
Job Description: A postdoctoral
position is available immediately at Bilkent University, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, to develop proteomic based methods for the early detection of colorectal, gastric, ovarian and lung cancer.
Applicants should have a PhD degree and extensive experience with difficult to express proteins, ELISA-based assay development, mass spectrometry, bioinformatics and statistical analysis. Excellent
communication and organizational skills (both oral and written) as well as the ability to get along with co-workers and faculty in multi-disciplinary research teams are essential.
Applicants should have demonstrated scientific productivity and be able to work independently, but cooperate closely with the primary investigator (Dr. Ali O. Gure).
Support will be through one of the TUBITAK based post-doctoral scholarship programs to which the candidate and the P.I. will submit a joint application. Scholarships range from 1750 to 2750TL/month, for up to 24 months, depending on citizenship and current residence status. Please see this link for details.
The successful applicant is expected to obtain independent funding for research support within the first year. Affordable housing is available within close vicinity of the University and there is free and frequent transportation to and from Ankara.
