Eligibility:
We welcome applicants with a Ph.D. degree, preferably in Architecture or related, relevant fields. The thesis theme shall be relevant for the position. Strong emphasis is set on publication, both as a qualification and as part of the postdoc position. International contacts and experience are of value. Applicants with practical experience of architectural design as well as of architectural teaching are encouraged to apply. You are expected to work independently, to develop your own ideas, and to be skilled in communicating your scientific results, orally, visually and in written English. You will work in an architectural environment with transdisciplinary networks and is expected to be open for collaboration across disciplinary borders. The applicant should be prepared to take active part in the research environment at the Department throughout the period of employment. Alternative co-sponsoring of the position may be of interest.

Scholarship Description: The post-doctoral positions offer an opportunity to develop as independent researcher to qualify for a continued career in academia, in industry or in other parts of society. The work is mainly devoted to own research, and emphasises publication, but may also involve teaching at undergraduate level or other work connected to research groups (maximum 20%). The employment is limited to one year with the possibility to be extended up to 2 years. The positions relate to the Department’s profiles, to Homes for Tomorrow and to Architecture in the Making, with the following orientations: 1. Architectural conceptualization, theory and methods through advanced Digital Modeling and Visualisation (connected to Architecture in the Making and department profile Form and Technology/Visualisation and Modeling). 2. Architectural Alteration and/or Heritage, Conservation and Transformation, meeting with the challenges to handle and transform existing buildings and built environments, e.g. architectural qualities, heritage values, new use and programs and technical demands. 3. Housing and/or Health Care Architecture, Space and Activity, within the research program Integrative Ways of Residing, IREQ, alternative themes: a) Architecture for emerging ways of residing, focused on the general situation and integrative ways of living; b) Architecture for an ageing society, focused on when homes become a workplace for staff in care; c) Healthcare architecture focused on healing environments from intensive care to home-healthcare.
