Postdoctoral Positions in Chemistry Available at the University of Amsterdam
Three Postdoctoral Positions in Synthetic Inorganic Chemistry/Homogeneous Catalysis at the van ‘t Hoff Institute for Molecular Sciences, University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Applications are welcome for 3 postdoctoral positions in the group of Supramolecular & Homogeneous Catalysis, led by Professor Dr. Joost Reek. Overarching themes of the projects are: i) late transition metal catalyzed hydroamination of biorenewables, ii) homogeneous catalysis with self-assembled photoactive, functional switches and iii) bioinspired, photocatalytic production of H2 using Fe2-hydrogenase active site models. The projects will initially entail (in)organic synthesis and coordination chemistry while gradually homogeneous catalysis and e.g. spectroscopic investigations will also become important aspects. The research group is relatively young, ambitious and well-known for new concepts and approaches in (supramolecular) homogeneous catalysis. Lab-facilities are of excellent modern standards. The successful, eager applicants (M/F) should have PhD. degrees in Chemistry with significant relevant experience and a keen interest in high-level research in a friendly, competitive environment. Due to grant restrictions, residents of american and EU countries and associated states are preferred. Good knowledge of English is required. Initial appointment is for 1 year with possible extension upon positive evaluation. Salaries and benefits are of high standards. Private funding is highly appreciated and recommended. Starting dates are flexible; positions are open from present till filled.
