Postdoctoral Research Fellow- Neuroscience, University of Plymouth, UK
Job Description: A vacancy exists for an MRC funded postdoctoral Research Fellow to undertake studies of synaptic transmission and development using Drosophila Melanogaster focusing on Syndapin and its interacting proteins. The appointee will work within a team studying synaptic biology at the John Bull Building in Plymouth.
You will have a PhD in a relevant life science and must have proven experience in some of the following techniques Drosophila genetics, electrophysiology, microscopy, molecular biology, recombinant proteins, immunoprecipitation or immunocytochemistry. An MSc in Neuroscience or Cell Biology or other relevant subject would be advantageous.
The post is available immediately until 2/8/12 and will be based at the College headquarters at Tamar Science Park, Plymouth. Several other research groups with interests in cell biology, cytoskeleton, neuron-glial interactions and diabetes are located in this building.
