The Faculty of Chemistry at Jagiellonian University is inviting applications for one postdoctoral research fellowship in Chemistry (molecular modeling, photocatalysis). Applicants will get stipend of 5000 zloty/month, university salary and pension insurance. To be eligible for the position, applicants must have a PhD degree in chemistry and good experience in computational chemistry. The position is associated with the project “Activation of small molecules in photocatalytic systems”

Eligibility:
-
PhD degree in chemistry;
-good experience in computational chemistry;
-experience in inorganic chemistry will be advantageous;
-good papers published in international journals;
-good command in English.

Scholarship Description: A post-doctoral position is available in Faculty of Chemistry, Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Poland. The position is associated with the project “Activation of small molecules in photocatalytic systems” which will be released until June 2015. Key responsibilities include realization of the sub-project No. 6: Activation of small molecules – quantum chemical modeling. This part of the project is dedicated to the modeling of the surface of developed photocatalysts and their interactions with adsorbed or coordinated small molecules. In the case of the surface modified solids the influence of the modifier (surface complex) on the electronic properties of the support will be considered. The studies should enable elucidation of the photosensitization effect and the influence of the adsorbed species on electronic properties of the semiconducting support

Number of award(s): One postdoctoral position is available.

Duration of award(s): Position will run from October 1st, 2013 until June 30th, 2015.

What does it cover? Applicants will get Stipend of 5000 Zloty/month + university salary. Applicants will also get pension insurance.
