University of Oslo is inviting application for a postdoctoral research fellowship in fluid mechanics at the Department of Mathematics. The PD project will be concerned with biomechanical flow and flow induced vibration with focus on experimental investigation on different flow phenomena. The Postdoctoral fellowship will be for a period of three (3) years starting from 01 May 2015. No one can be appointed for more than one fixed-term period at the same institution. Eligibility:
-Applicants must have a background within applied mathematics, fluid mechanics, boundary layer–and transitional flows, experimental techniques and signal processing. Experience with Particle Image Velocimetry and Particle tracking velocimetry is a prerequisite. Basic knowledge of microfluidics is considered a bonus. The project objectives will require the candidates to master numerical, theoretical and experimental analyses.
-The candidate must have a PhD or other corresponding education equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in fluid mechanics.
-The main purpose of post-doctoral research fellowships is to qualify researchers for work in top academic positions within their disciplines.
-A good command of English is required.

What does it cover? Pay Grade: 57 – 65 (NOK 482 800 – 559 600 per year, depending on qualifications and seniority).
