Eligibility:
Candidates should have a PhD in synthetic molecular inorganic chemistry and considerable experience of Schlenk or vacuum line techniques. Experience of the main spectroscopic and structural techniques (MS, NMR, single-crystal X-ray diffraction) is also important.

Scholarship Description: Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position to work with Prof. A. J. Welch on an EPSRC-funded project in Heteroborane Chemistry. In particular we will be investigating the emerging chemistry of bis(carboranes) and related species, and their ability to promote bond activation (see Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., 2010, 49, 4943)The position is available from 1st September 2012 for 1 year, in the first instance, with the possibility of extension for up to 2½ further years.
