Postdoctoral Scientist position (TVL-E13) in Molecular Neuropathology Group (Prof. Dr. Sascha Weggen)
Applications are invited for the position of a Postdoctoral Scientist interested in neurodegenerative diseases. Our main research focus is strategies for treatment or prevention of Alzheimer disease (for review see Trends Pharmacol Sci 2007, 28: 536-43). The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and result-oriented, with a strong background in molecular and cellular biology. Candidates with prior experience in gene targeting, RNAi screening, expression cloning or the analysis of animal models of human CNS diseases are particularly encouraged to apply. Fluency in written and spoken English is expected.
The successful applicant will join a dynamic, young research group in a cooperative, stimulating working environment with excellent research facilities. The position is initially available for two years with possible extension. The city of Duesseldorf, located on the River Rhine, is one of the economic and cultural centers of Germany and provides for highest quality of living.
