Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is inviting future undergraduate students and postgraduate students to apply for Creative Industries Scholarships. OUT is offering merit-based scholarships for high-achieving international students who have accepted their offer and been admitted into an undergraduate course.

Students applying for these scholarships must have completed a qualifying course of any country outside Australia with the required academic results.

The Queensland University of Technology abbreviated as QUT is a public research university located in the urban coastal city of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

Australian Qualifications:

  • Australian high school: OP 3 or ATAR 95
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma – Australia: Aggregate of 37
  • Completed Bachelor – Non-QUT: GPA 6.0 on a 7-point scale or equivalent
  • Completed Bachelor – QUT: GPA 5.5 on a 7-point scale or equivalent

Overseas Qualifications:

  • GCE A levels: 12 A level points based on the aggregate of your best 3 academic subjects
  • Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM): 12 A level points based on the aggregate of your best 3 academic subjects
  • United Exam Certificate (UEC): Average of 2 based on 5 academic subjects (excluding Chinese, Malay or PE)
  • Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE): Aggregate score of 21 over the 5 best subjects (across core and category A or C electives)
  • All India Senior School Certificate (AISSC): Overall grade point average (GPA) of 80% overall subjects
  • India State Board (10+2): Overall grade point average (GPA) of 90% overall subjects
  • International Baccalaureate (Outside Australia): Aggregate of 34
  • Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) 3/ Certificate of Graduation: Combined Exam grade point average (GPA) of 8.5 on a 10-point scale from the four major academic subjects (Combined Exam Grade is 40% School Exam Score plus 60% National Exam Score)
  • GAOKAO – Chinese National University Entrance Exam: An overall grade point average (GPA) of approximately 85% in 5 academic subjects
  • Vietnam Gifted and Specialised Schools: Overall grade point average (GPA) of 8.5 on a 10-point scale from all year 12 subjects and an overall passing grade in Bang Tot Nghiep Trung Hoc Pho Thong
  • German Abitur: Zeugnis der Allgemeinen Hochschulreife: Overall grade point average (GPA) of 1.5 on a 6-point scale (where 1 is the best)
  • Korean College Scholastic Aptitude Test (CSAT): Completion of Year 12 and CSAT with an aggregate score of 347 based on ‘Korean Language’, ‘Mathematics’ and ‘Foreign Language’ (‘English’) only
  • Diploma or higher graduates from Singapore Polytechnics: An overall grade point average of 3.3 on a 4 point scale
  • Sweden Slutbetyg Från Gymnasieskola: Grade average 17.5 out of 20 in the final year; where A=20, B=17.5, C=15, D=12.5, E=10, F=0
  • Recognised Bachelor-level studies (minimum one year) or Recognised overseas post-secondary qualification equivalent to an Australian Diploma or higher: 3.4 on a 4-point scale where 2 is a pass, 3.0 on a 4-point scale where 1 is a pass, 6.0 on a 7-point scale where 4 is a pass, 85% where 60% is a pass, 82.5% where 50% is a pass, 80% where 40% is a pass

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have completed a qualifying course from any country outside Australia.

English Language Requirement:  Students must meet minimum English language entry requirements of IELTS 6.5 (no sub scores below 6) or equivalent for direct admission to the degree program. If students are completing an English preparation course at QUT, they may be eligible for this scholarship once they have met the English language requirements.

How to Apply:

Students don’t need to apply separately for the scholarship. If they apply for and are accepted into one of the eligible courses, and meet the criteria for the scholarship, University will offer a scholarship as well as a place in the course.

Awards:

Students will receive:

  • A scholarship to cover 25% of your tuition fees for your first two semesters (one year) of study at QUT. This scholarship is based on your entry score.
  • An ongoing scholarship to cover 25% of your tuition fees per semester of study at QUT, provided you meet the academic conditions.

Application Deadline: Applications must be submitted to UQ by no later than March 31 if applying for Semester 2 admission; and October 31 of the previous year if applying for Semester 1 admission.
