Description : CORPORACIÓN PARA INVESTIGACIONES BIOLÓGICAS (CIB). The Corporación de Investigaciones Biológicas (CIB) is a private non-profit organization located in Medellín, Colombia. It is one of the best research centers in this country and a leader in biomedical, biotechnology and biodiversity developments. For more information please consult our web page www.cib.org.co Purpose of the announcement The CIB would like to strengthen its research capabilities and invites applications from candidates in the biology field who may be interested in the various posts offered by the Institution Research Units, as described below: BIOLOGICAL CONTROL Desirable profile of the Candidate The candidate should have: ? A Ph.D. title and interests in PHYTOPATHOLOGY. ? Research experience demonstrated by work done in the last two years in an area akin to the interests of the Unit in question. ? Publication abilities as shown by at least 3 research publications in indexed journals in the period 2005-2008. ? Capacity to prepare research projects for approval by governmental and private institutions. ? Abilities to write and speak English fluently. The preferred applicant will be less than 40 years but age will not solely determine selection. Application Process ? Please write a letter of intention and include your complete CV, as well as certifications corresponding to the profile requirements described above. Include also: a).- Academic recommendations both professional and personal written by two previous superiors. b).- Reprints (PDF format) of the most relevant and recent publications (a maximum of five). ? Pre-selection of the best candidates will be done on the basis of their CVs; they will be called for an interview and a short presentation of their most recent work. Work offering ? A three-year contract will be offered with the first year performance and candidate adaptation to the local condition determining continuation of the program. Ample possibilities for extension after the initial contract as judged by scientific production and/or technologic advancements achieved. ? Inclusion of all social securities approved by the Colombian government. ? Institutional support when requesting the official and legal permits required for work in the country. ? Salary competitive with those offered by other public and private research institutions in the country. ? An amiable work environment that is conducive to individual and group development. ? An effective and courteous administration group that is ready to support the researcher.
