Regions Riding Forward® Scholarship Essay Contest in USA, 2015

Applications are invited for Regions Riding Forward® Scholarship Essay Contest from high school seniors and or college freshman, sophomore or junior students. To qualify, students are asked to write and submit a short essay on an African-American person who has inspired them. High School seniors are eligible to apply for a $5,000 scholarship. College freshman, sophomores and juniors are eligible for a $2,500 scholarship. The application deadline is February 26, 2015.

Eligibility: To be eligible to enter this contest and to win an award, you must be either a high school senior or a college freshman, sophomore or junior and meet all of the following criteria.
High School Seniors:
-Be a legal resident of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas or Virginia.
-Be 13 years or older.
-Be enrolled in 12th grade in a public or private school (or home school) in one of the states listed above.
-Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
College Students:
-Either be a legal resident of one of the following states or currently attending college or university located in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas or Virginia.
-Be 16 years or older.
-Have at least one year (or 18 credit hours) remaining before graduation.
-Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Scholarship is open for students of USA (residents of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas or Virginia).

Scholarship Description: Through an essay contest, Regions will award 32 Riding Forward® Scholarships to high school and college students across the 16 states. To qualify, students are asked to write and submit a short essay on an African-American person who has inspired them. High School seniors are eligible to apply for a $5,000 scholarship. College freshman, sophomores and juniors are eligible for a $2,500 scholarship.
