Research Associate in CFD Wind Modelling, University of Loughborough, UK
Job Description: Downscaling of Microclimate Wind Speed Data Using a Computational Fluid Dynamics Model. A researcher is required to work on the NERC funded Micro-climates project focusing on the modelling of wind flow in an around a wind farm situated in a peat bog and the wind flow over a field of crops.
The wind flow studies will be carried out using a CFD model and the initial wind conditions will be taken from the WRF mesoscale model using data provided through the Micro-climates project by the University of Leeds.
A good honours degree in Science or Engineering and experience in CFD modelling is essential. A PhD in computational fluid dynamics modelling of wind resource and experience of modelling atmospheric flows, forest canopies and wind turbine wakes would be advantageous.
