Research Associate, Condensed Matter Theory, University of Cambridge, UK

Job Description: Applications are invited for an EPSRC funded post doctoral research position in condensed matter theory. The position must start within the period 1 October 2010 to 1 April 2011 (with preference for an early start date). This post is to work with Professor Nigel Cooper. The project will involve theoretical investigations of ultracold atomic gases, including collaborative work with the experimental group of Zoran Hadzibabic. The TCM group provides an environment to pursue collaborative and/or independent research. Further information on the research activities of the group are available from http://www.tcm.phy.cam.ac.uk.

The successful candidate should possess a Doctorate in theoretical physics and have a strong background in the theory of quantum many-particle systems. A good knowledge of ultracold atomic gases would also be desirable.
