Job Description: Applications are invited for a one year post-doctoral position to work with Dr Adrian Fisher on the development of micro-bio-photo-voltaic (microBPV) devices to use photosynthetic organisms to harness solar energy. The project will focus on the application of high sensitivity voltammetric techniques and combined spectroscopic/electrochemical methods for the analysis of the underlying mechanisms allowing rational improvement in design. This will be underpinned by the use of quantitative numerical models of electrolyte and electron transfer within the devices, permitting fundamental understanding and device optimisation.
Applicants must have experience in the construction of photovoltaic devices and biological cell culturing. The post is available immediately and the appointment will be for up to one year.
