Position Details

The University of Washington, School of Oceanography invites applications for a postdoctoral position. The position requires a PhD in Physical Oceanography, or related field, and expertise in numerical circulation modeling. The successful applicant will work closely with a Physical Oceanographer, Dr. Parker MacCready in developing a ROMS-based model of Puget Sound. Desired skills include familiarity with ROMS, MATLAB, UNIX, model-data comparison techniques, and the physics of stratified tidal flow over rough topography. The position is for one year, beginning on or after August 1, 2008, renewable for a second year and is not eligible for tenure. This is a full-time position.
