Research Associate in Service Performance Measurement and Information, University of Cambridge, UK

Job Description: A position exists for a research associate or senior research associate to develop the Strategic Performance Laboratory, part of the Cambridge Service Alliance. The main duties are:

  • To lead the design and development of the Strategic Performance Laboratory.
  • To participate in a review of current reporting and visualization systems to identify the potential to integrate them into a system wide information system.
  • To support the development of scenarios to demonstrate the effectiveness of the system at strategic, tactical and operational levels.
  • To lay the foundations for a long-term programme of work to explore the potential of performance information for managing and modelling complex service systems.

The successful candidate will have a PhD degree in engineering management or a related discipline and proven experience in developing and maintaining relationships with senior practitioners. Experience of the latest developments in enterprise performance management and business intelligence will be advantageous.

The researcher will work under the supervision of Dr Andy Neely, as part of the Distributed Information and Automation Laboratory and the Centre for Strategy and Performance. The Laboratory is funded through the Institute for Manufacturing’s Innovative Manufacturing Research Centre.
