NRSA is an organ of Department of Space, poised for realizing the Indian Space vision,
as a key player in its Earth Observation Programme and the prime player in its Disaster
Management Support Programme. Its activities encompass ground segment
management for all IRS series and few foreign satellites, Remote Sensing based
resource management information services and products generation, Aero- space
based single-window disaster management support services, and capacity building in
different geospatial technologies.

The R&D activities have been a very important driving force in NRSA’s collective efforts
in Remote Sensing and GIS Applications and this organization has been recognized as
Research Centre by various universities for carrying out the research work for award of
Ph.D. NRSA is looking for young and talented persons in different themes such as
Geology/Water Resources Engineering/Hydrology/Remote Sensing/GIS/Environment.
Applications are invited from interested candidates having aptitude to carry out research
work for award of Research Associates/Senior Research Fellow/Junior Research

Fellow at NRSA as per the details given below:
Post No.01:Research Associate: No. of posts: One: (Associateship amount Rs.16,000/-
Plus HRA 30%) Period of Associateship: Initially for one year and can be extendable for
one to two years depending upon the project requirements. Age below: 35 years:
Essential Qualifications: (i) Ph.D in Remote Sensing or Geoinformatics OR
(ii) ME/M.Tech in Remote Sensing or Geoinformatics with 3 years research experience
as evident by published work. Desirable: Knowledge in Digital Image processing and
GIS to High Resolution satellite data in Urban studies.

Post No.02:Research Associate: No.of posts:Two: (Associateship amount Rs.16,000/-
Plus HRA 30%) Period of Associateship: Initially for one year and can be extendable for
one to two years depending upon the project requirements. Age below: 35 years:
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D in Geography with specialization in Urban
geography/Settlement. Desirable: Knowledge in Digital Image Processing and GIS to
High Resolution satellite data utilization in Urban studies.
Post No.03: Research Associate: No.of posts: One: (Associateship amount Rs.16,000/-
Plus HRA 30%) Period of Associateship: Initially for one year and can be extendable for
one to two years depending upon the project requirements.Age below: 35 years:
Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in Applied Geology/Geology (OR) M.Tech./M.Sc.Tech. in
Applied Geology with 3 years experience (OR) M.Sc Geology with 5 years experience.
Desirable: Specialisation in Geomorphology, Structural Geology & Ground Water
Applications/ Knowledge in Remote Sensing Applications in Ground Water
Studies/Computer Programming and application of GIS in Geology is preferred.
