Research Fellow in Sheffield Business School, UK
July 5, 2010The Centre for Individual and Organisational Development (CIOD) is looking to appoint a Research Fellow to support the growth of its vibrant research programme, particularly in the area of impact evaluation. The role will involve substantial elements of quantitative and qualitative research, and you will need to demonstrate expertise in applied quantitative and qualitative techniques, as well as in the development, management and leadership of client-driven contract research projects.
You will have a degree in social sciences, with a significant research element, and have a relevant doctorate or be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to gaining doctoral status. You will have experience of undertaking, managing and leading research, knowledge of organisation and management debates, and have experience from either policy or research environments of data management and analysis.
You will have good analytical and organisational skills and be able to communicate findings to a variety of audiences both verbally and through report writing. You will be self-motivated, with the ability to meet competing deadlines and also be able to work within and lead a multidisciplinary team.
The University offers many staff benefits, and provides a lively academic community which prides itself on its innovative approaches, its strong professional focus, its support for students and its applied research record.
Like CIOD’s other dedicated research staff, you will work full-time on research activity, though research staff are supported to disseminate their research findings and contribute to relevant teaching programmes in the Faculty.
The person offered this post will be subject to an Enhanced criminal records check by the Criminal Records Bureau. A criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from working at Sheffield Hallam University but its relevance to the duties of the post will need to be assessed before the appointment is confirmed.
