Scholarship Description: We are seeking a highly motivated proactive Research Fellow to join an enthusiastic international health literacy and musculoskeletal research team to review the effectiveness of musculoskeletal patient education for people with lower literacy levels. This two-year research project will involve conducting a systematic review and qualitative evidence synthesis as well as interviewing patients and health professionals across the UK. The post holder will be working in helping to review and develop the health education provided to musculoskeletal patients within the NHS. The work has been identified as nationally important for the delivery of high quality NHS musculoskeletal care and is commissioned by Arthritis Research UK. You will be based in the University of Southampton and be supported by Dr Jo Adams, Dr Claire Ballinger, Dr Ray Armstrong, Prof Don Nutbeam, Dr Jo Protheroe and Ms Jill Lueddeke from Brockenhurst College. A national steering group of musculoskeletal and patient education experts will also contribute to the development of this work.
