Research position,Paterson Institute for Cancer Research,UK
The Paterson Institute is one of Europe’s premier cancer research centres core funded by Cancer Research-UK, the largest independent cancer research organisation in the world.
They are seeking an outstanding individual with a demonstrated record of significant achievement and the ability to establish a vigorous and ambitious independent research programme. The programme should complement and expand existing research strengths, which include stem cells, cell signalling, cell cycle control and DNA damage responses.
The position is initially for seven years with consideration for promotion to Senior Group Leader in the sixth year. Direct appointment to a senior position will also be considered for suitably experienced applicants. The position is open to non-clinical and clinical researchers and comes with substantial research support, which includes a very generous start-up package and running costs, three fully funded research positions and yearly access to PhD student positions.
The Institute provides a highly interactive and vibrant environment, facilitated by access to a comprehensive range of world-class core research services www.paterson.man.ac.uk which include state of the art facilities for sequencing and expression arrays, FACS, microscopy and mass spectrometry. The Institute is at the heart of the Manchester Cancer Research Centre (MCRC), a partnership that includes the University of Manchester and the Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Europe’s biggest specialist cancer hospital. The MCRC integrates research across the basic to clinical research spectrum providing the opportunity to translate research findings into patient benefit www.mcrc.manchester.ac.uk.
