I am Gaurava Srivastava, a Senior Ph.D Student in the School of Biochemical Engineering at the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IT-BHU), Varanasi, India. This is an associate of the the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) with the same qualifying examination (IIT-JEE).
Most humbly and respectfully I would like to draw your attention towards the question that why I am interested to join this job? I’m pursuing my research in the field of biotechnology and I have learned some bioinformatics skills to speedup my work. I pursued my M.Sc in Biotechnology from University of Allahabad, Allahabad. After that I worked in Centre for Biotechnology, University of Allahabad as a project trainee for one year, there I worked on regeneration studies of Bacopa monniera and by using different bioinformatics tools try to search out its active site for saving heat shock proteins. I have great interest in the field of bioinformatics and I had completed PG Diploma in Bioinformatics. Through this job I will get practical exposure, so I will be much benefitted. Undeniably this novel promising field has drawn attention of whole scientific world, being an energetic trainee of this exciting interdisciplinary topic. The learning approach should be multidimensional so that I would be able to keep ourselves on the front view of this scientific area. I hope this organization will provide me the precise exposure essential for keep myself up to date and also provides me the stage for better interaction with scientific community. I have great interest in the field of bioinformatics as well as publications. By using different bioinformatics tools I also tried to search for drug in medicinal plants against stress and ulcer. I am also trying to search the proteomic approach to study the surface proteins of the pathogen, Mycobacterium sp.; attempts to enhance drug targeting. Now I have got the opportunity to precede forward in better direction by getting more practical expertise through this job. My keen interest, dedication & zeal to hard work is enough to grasp, the brain storming session of your workgroup. I have worked on the Lactic Acid Production through Fermentation Technology, It’s Downstream Processing/Purification and It’s Polymerization to Produce A Biopolymer ‘Polylactide’ with its Characterization to find the Suitability for Biomedical Applications. Gel Permeation Chromatography & Differential Scanning Colorimetry of the produced Biopolymer has been done. A modelling & Optimization of the Process has also been done by statistical analysis tools. Degradation studies and Mechanical characterization is being pursued. This work has been done under Dr. Pradeep Srivastava, School of Biochemical Engineering at the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IT-BHU), Varanasi, India.
I am also working towards the implementation of a new kind of Biomedical Implants/Scaffolds to check its biocompatibility and immunological responces. under Dr Srivastava at the School of Biochemical Engineering, Banaras Hindu University. This is a Polylactide composite Implant/Scaffold, based on a PLA and PGA composite reinforced by Hydroxyapetite with some unique charecteristics.
I have also worked on the “Effect of Antihistamines on Immune Responses” under Prof. S.M. Singh, School of Biotechnology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, “Primer Designing and It’s Application in RAPD Analysis of Cyanobacteria” (4 months dissertation work) at Centre for Biotechnology, University of Allahabad, Allahabad, under the supervision of Prof. Krishna Misra & Dr. Shanthy Sundaram & “Role of Immobilized Cyanobacteria in Bioremediation of Heavy Metals” (1 Month dissertation work) at Centre of Advanced Study in Botany, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, under the supervision of Dr. R.K.Asthana.
I have ideas aplenty on new types of fabrication that can be done, including the use of Carbon Nanotubes. I also have a plan of action on Nanocrystalline Lead Zirconate Thin Films. If you are interested in calling me over, we can discuss these plans and more.
