-A Bachelor Degree with First Class Honours or equivalent results;
-Practical experience using Matlab;
-Mathematical training through to senior undergraduate levels;
-A willingness to work in the field, including at working mine sites.
Desirable requirements:
-Formal training in geology;
-Experience in machine learning, particularly Gaussian Processes;
-Practical experience in C++.

Scholarship Description: This position would suit a person with a background in geostatistics, geochemistry, geophysics or geotechnical engineering who has an interest in the estimation and numerical representation of ore deposits. It could also suit geologists who have practical experience in the mining industry and are looking to undertake postgraduate studies. People with a background in machine learning and software development who have an interest in mining geology are also encouraged to apply.
