Scholarship opportunity

High school seniors needing money for college are being encouraged to apply for the Ronald McDonald House scholarship program.

The charity’s New York tri-state chapter is awarding more than $500,000 in scholarships for students of all ethnic backgrounds, as well as specific scholarships for students of Asian, African-American, Caribbean and Hispanic descent.

Awards are based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need and community service.
