SCCF Scholarships for Indian and International Students at TERI University, 2016

Sindicatum Climate Change Foundation (SCCF) is awarding SCCF scholarship for pursuing masters programme at the TERI University. Scholarships are available to 4 students (2 from India and 2 from abroad) every year, for studying at TERI University. Selection is based on a merit (rank in the entrance examination for Indian students, and previous academic records for international students) cum means criteria. The application deadline is 7 May, 2016.

Study Subject(s): Scholarships are awarded for the following programmes: Climate Science and Policy, Environmental Studies and Resource Management, Geoinformatics, Economics, Renewable Energy Engineering and Management, Water Science and Governance and Sustainable Development Practice.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing masters degree programme (M.Sc, M.Tech, M.Tech/M.Sc or M.A.) at TERI University.

Eligibility: Scholarships are available to Indian and international students who meet the following admission criteria of the given master programmes:
-MSc (Climate Science and Policy & Environmental Studies and Resource Management): A Bachelor’s degree in Science/Engineering/Economics/Mathematics/Statistics/Geology /Geography with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 6.75 on a 10 point scale or equivalent, as determined by TERI University, wherever letter grades are awarded, or 60% marks in aggregate, wherever marks are awarded. For candidates with bachelor’s degree in Humanities (e.g. Economics/Geography), a relaxation of 5%/0.75 Cumulative Grade Point Average could be allowed.
MSc (Geoinformatics): A Bachelor’s degree in Science/Engineering/Mathematics/ Computers/Statistics/Geology/Geography with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 6.75 on a 10 point scale or equivalent as determined by the TERI University, wherever letter grades are awarded, or 60% marks in aggregate, wherever marks are awarded. For candidates with a bachelor’s degree in Humanities (e.g. Geography), a relaxation of 5%/0.75 Cumulative Grade Point Average could be allowed.
-MSc (Economics): B.A. (Hons.) / B.Sc. (Hons.) in Economics with 50 % or more marks in aggregate OR Bachelor degree with at least 60% marks, in Business Economics/ B.Com. / B.Stat. / B.Sc. (Physics or Mathematics) / BA (with Economics and Mathematics/Statistics) / B.Tech./B.E.. The applicant must have studied mathematics either at 10+2 level or at Bachelor’s level, either as subsidiary or as honours.
-M Tech (Renewable Energy Engineering and Management): A Bachelor’s degree in any branch of engineering or MSc with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 6.75 on a 10 point scale or equivalent or 60% marks in aggregate.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Indian and international students can apply for this SCCF Scholarship.

Scholarship Description: As a part of its “Redfort” project, Sindicatum Climate Change Foundation (SCCF), awards scholarships to 4 students (2 from India and 2 from abroad) every year, for studying at TERI University.

Number of award(s): Scholarships are available to 4 students (2 from India and 2 from abroad) every year, for studying at TERI University.

Duration of award(s): Scholarship is awarded for the duration of master program. Continuation of the scholarship for every semester will depend on successful completion of the course during the preceding semester as per the rules and regulations of the University.

What does it cover?
-For Indian Students: The scholarship would entitle the selected candidates to a 100% fee waiver. In addition, scholarship holders would be entitled to a book grant of Rs 15,000 per year which will be given in two installments.
-For Foreign Students: The selected foreign students would be entitled to get complete waiver of tuitions fees and allied fees, a book grant of Rs. 15,000/- (will be given in two installments), living expenses at Rs 25,000/- per month, which will be paid at the beginning of each month during their period of study and reimbursement of air fare to New Delhi and back from their place of residence (Subject to a maximum of Rs. 60,000/-)

Selection Criteria: Selection is based on a merit (rank in the entrance examination for Indian students, and previous academic records for international students) cum means criteria. In addition, all applicants are required to submit an essay indicating their career aspirations and goals. This will be considered in the selection process.

Notification: Short listed applicants will be interviewed telephonically both by the TERI University and by the Foundation.

How to Apply: Desirous candidates are invited to simultaneously apply for the master’s programme and the SCCF Scholarships while filling up the admissions application form.
For Indian students: Applicants desirous of applying for the SCCF scholarship need to submit a separate plain paper application indicating the total family income. The following are to be attached with the application.
-An essay (maximum 1000 words) expressing their future aspirations and how they see a masters programme at the TERI University helping them meet those aspirations.
-Proof of income of the family.
Note: Indian students are required to fill admission application form through proper channel. Candidates who successfully clear the University eligibility criteria (including entrance examination and interview) can only apply for this scholarship after the declaration of results.
For International Students: Applicants desirous of applying for the SCCF scholarship need to submit a separate plain paper application. The following is to be attached with the application form:
-An essay (maximum 1000 words) expressing their future aspirations and how they see a masters programme at the TERI University helping them meet those aspirations.
-Scanned filled admission application form.
