Scholarship Awards for China Students UK
CHINA
One scholarship worth £4,000 is offered to an undergraduate student entering the university with the SQA HND qualification.
Terms & Conditions
1. Applicants must be a national of the country listed and must be paying the “overseas” rate for tuition fees
2. Applicants must complete a scholarship application form
3. Applications must be received by 31 May 2008
4. No applications will be considered after this date
5. By the deadline of 31 May 2008, all applicants must meet the following conditions:
* Have applied for and been accepted onto a course at Gloucestershire to begin in September 2008
* Have firmly accepted their offer from Gloucestershire
* Have met all academic conditions of their offer, including English language requirements
6. Applications will be considered by a Scholarships Award Panel who will select their preferred candidate(s) on the basis of their overall application. Awards are merit based. The panel may consider the following aspects:
* Academic performance
* English Language
* Merit of the personal statement
* Contribution to society – prior to and following study in the UK
* Any other experience which is presented in the application and deemed appropriate
7. The Panel’s decisions will be finalised in June 2008
8. Successful applicants will be notified by email in July
9. Successful candidates will be invited to accept their scholarship
10. By accepting the scholarship, candidates are giving the university permission to use their details for promotional purposes
11. At the point of acceptance, the applicant must have paid their non-refundable deposit of £1,000 to secure their place at Gloucestershire
12. The decision of the Awards Panel is final — the University will not enter into any correspondence with unsuccessful candidates regarding their decision
How to collect your award
* Scholarships will not be paid in cash. They will be deducted from the first year’s tuition fees on arrival at Gloucestershire
* Recipients must not be in receipt of a full scholarship from any other source
* In their first term at Gloucestershire, all successful scholarship winners will be invited to attend a reception to receive their award certificates
* Scholarship winners may be asked to provide a case study which may be used in university publications or on the web site
