Scholarship for full or part-time PhD study at the University of Leicester

Scholarship Information

Applications from candidates with a Masters Degree in Counselling or related subject are invited to apply for a Scholarship amounting to £15,000 to study for a PhD working in collaboration with Leicester Counselling Centre.

The Leicester Counselling Centre has a large cohort of volunteers offering counselling to the community at low cost. The Centre is developing its capacity to collect data on all aspects of the counselling process and the intention is to generate research projects that will provide evidence of the efficacy and effectiveness of counselling in voluntary agencies using a range of theoretical models.

The successful applicant will generate their own research questions related to the work of the Centre, and will be supervised by Professor Sue Wheeler and her staff.

Applicants would probably need to be able to spend at least one day per month in Leicester.
