Swiss Government, through the Federal Commission offers excellence scholarships for foreign scholars and artists in Switzerland. The scholarships are available for pursuing PhD, postdoctoral and research programs at one of the public funded universities or recognized institution. The applicant must not be more than 35 years old at the moment of the application. The Scholarship is only valid for a full time Postdoctoral Research or Research in Switzerland. It is not valid for mixed Postdoctoral Research or mixed Research (part time in Switzerland and part time in a third country).
Canadian Government Doctoral Research Scholarships
Each year, the government of Canada offers doctoral research scholarships for international students. Scholarships are awarded for pursuing doctoral studies at Québec University in the natural sciences, mathematics and engineering fields. The maximum annual value of the scholarship is $20 000. The scholarship holder may also receive up to nine payments totaling $60 000 during the nine sessions or 36 months. Only students who have been pre selected by a Québec university may apply for these scholarships. Applicants must consult the deadlines of the universities for pre selection. The deadline for submitting complete files directly to the FRQNT is November 1st, 2015.
Chevening Scholarships for Postgraduate Students
Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations offer Chevening scholarships for master students. The programme provides full or part funding for full-time courses at postgraduate level, normally a one-year Master’s degree in any subject and at any UK University. Chevening scholarships cover tuition fees, a living allowance at a set rate (for one individual), an economy class return airfare to the UK and additional grants to cover essential expenditure. Some Scholarships cover part of the cost of studying in the UK; for example, tuition fees only or allowances only. The application deadline is 3rd November 2015.
Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships
The Government of Canada offers Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships for Canadian and international students studying at Canadian universities. Up to 167 scholarships are awarded annually for a period of three years. Students must be nominated by only one Canadian university, which must have received a Vanier CGS allocation. Candidates cannot apply directly to the Vanier CGS program. Each Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship is valued at $50,000 per year. Application deadline for the 2015-2016 competition is November 4, 2015.
Sri Lankan Government Presidential Scholarships
Applications are invited for up to 100 Sri Lankan Government Scholarships available for foreign students to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate degree commencing in December 2014 in Sri Lanka. Scholarships are open for courses of studies other than Medical & Dental Sciences. Every student is required to undergo an HIV/AIDS test within a month after arrival. Candidates should apply for this scholarship with the recommendation of the government scholarship nominating agency (Ministry/Institution) of the respective country till 15th October, 2014.
UCSI University Trust Graduate Fellowships
UCSI University Trust offers limited numbers of postgraduate fellowships in any of the Master’s degree or Doctorate programmes. Fellowships are available for Malaysian and international students to pursue full time postgraduate studies at UCSI University. The fellowship awarded is in the form of partial tuition fee waiver and is neither transferable to another candidate nor exchangeable for cash. Application should be submitted till 1st November, 2014.
Southern African Young Scientists Summer Program (SA-YSSP)
Applications are invited for Southern African Young Scientists Summer Program (SA-YSSP) available to talented young researchers to work with scientists from South Africa and IIASA. This program is open to the applicants from South Africa, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) or IIASA member countries to conduct research at the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein, South Africa. Application should be submitted till 3rd August, 2014.
NAM S&T Centre –DST (South Africa) Training Fellowships
Department of Science & Technology (DST), Republic of South Africa and NAM S&T Centre are offering training fellowships on Minerals Processing & Benefaction. Twenty Fellowships are available this year for a maximum duration of three months. The selected Fellows will be hosted and attached to MINTEK, South Africa. This programme will bear direct and indirect benefits for the Fellows from the member countries of the NAM S&T Centre and the host country, South Africa, through creation of networks and exposure to new developments in mineral processing and beneficiation. DAAD Master Scholarships for Public Policy and Good Governance
DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) is funding master scholarships in Public Policy and Good Governance at German institution in Germany. A monthly scholarship rate of currently 750 € will be awarded. Scholarships also provide health insurance, travel allowance as well as a study and research subsidy and in applicable cases accommodation subsidies and/or family allowances. The next application deadline is 31st July 2015.
Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) invites applications for college scholarships available for international students to study at a Japanese college of technology. A graduated grantee will be awarded a diploma and an associate degree. Scholarship awards will be tenable for four years from April, 2015 to March, 2019 including one-year preparatory education in the Japanese language and other subjects due to be provided upon arrival in Japan.
MMMF Grant for Women of Developing Countries
Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund is offering grant for women of developing countries in South Africa. Applicant must be women and enrolled at the University of Pretoria, the University of Cape Town, the University of Stellenbosch or the University of Witwatersrand. Cocoa Borlaug Fellowships for Asia, Latin America and Caribbean
Applications are invited for Cocoa Borlaug Fellowship Program available for the citizens Asia, Latin America and Caribbean. Fellows will work with a mentor at an US university, research center or government agency for up to three months. The US mentor will later visit the fellow’s home institution to continue collaboration. The application deadline is June 27, 2014.
Malaysia Merit Postgraduate Scholarship
University of Sheffield is accepting applications for available merit scholarship for starting postgraduate taught masters degree studies in September 2014. One scholarship worth of £7,000 towards tuition fee will be awarded for a period of one year of study. Scholarship will be available for Malaysian student who hold an offer of a study place for entry in September 2014. The application deadline is 27th June 2014.
Guangxi Government Scholarship for ASEAN Students
People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is inviting application for scholarship available for ASEAN students. The full scholarship will be awarded to study (bachelor’s, master’s or PhD degree) or make scientific research in the institutions of higher learning of Guangxi. Recipients of the scholarship will enjoy exemption of such fees as for registration, tuition, textbooks and other teaching materials, accommodation, and insurance for diseases and accidents. ACU Commonwealth Scholarship for Master Students in Pakistan
The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) is awarding a Commonwealth scholarship for pursuing master degree at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology. Applicants must be citizens of any Commonwealth country except Pakistan and hold a degree (earned after 16 years of education) in the relevant field from an accredited institution of higher education, with CGPA of 2.5/4.0 under semester system, or not less than 60% marks under annual system. Applications should be submitted till 30th June 2014 for fall 2014 session.
MBA Scholarships at University of the West of England
University of the West of England, Bristol is offering MBA Scholarships for South American, Nigerian, Ghanaian, Indian, Nepalese, Sri Lankan and Chinese, Vietnamese, Malaysian and Indonesian students. Up to four scholarships are available for one per region. The scholarships will provide 100% of fees (£15,000). Application should be submitted till 1 July for the MBA commencing in September and 1 November for the MBA commencing in January.
James Henry Green Asia Scholarship
University of Sussex is offering Asia scholarship to pursue an MA degree in Anthropology, Development Studies or Migration Studies. The one-year scholarship provides an award of £5,000 as a contribution to tuition fees. The scholarship-holder is expected to submit a final report to RP&M and to forward a bound copy of their MA thesis after successful submission. Application should be submitted till 30th April 2014.
Sagawa International Students Scholarship Foundation
Kyushu University is offering international scholarships for self-financed students from Southeast Asian countries. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be in the master and doctoral course at Kyushu University as of April, 2014 and under 35 years old as of April 4, 2014. Application should be submitted till March 14, 2014.
British Council Scotland Commonwealth Scholarships
Applications are invited for British Council Scotland Commonwealth Scholarships available for students from Commonwealth countries. Scholarships are open for literature and creative writing students to attend the summer school. Two 2-week Literature scholarships and one 4-week Creative Writing scholarship will be awarded.
