Scholarships for Indian nationals

2008/2009

Luiss Guido Carli is a private Italian university situated in Rome, Italy, and was founded over forty years ago. It offers a variety of courses taught in English and Italian in the fields of economics, law and political sciences.

For the next academic year 2008/2009 Luiss will be offering 8 scholarships for Indian nationals.

The scholarships are meant to enable participation in the Master of Science course in General Management that will start in September 2008 and will last for two years.

Eligible candidates

All Indian nationals already holding an undergraduate degree or finishing their undergraduate degree by July 2008 are eligible to apply for the scholarships. Although the application is open to students from all disciplines, studies in economics will be seen as advantageous.

Description of scholarships

The 10 scholarships are divided in three different categories and are intended for the complete duration of the programme (two years):

Category A (4 scholarships available)

Scholarships offered by Ferrari S.p.A., Wind Telecommunications S.p.A. and Piaggio S.p.A.:

Successful candidates will benefit from a complete exemption of the annual tuition fee of € 9,000. Furthermore, they will receive € 9,000 per year to cover their living expenses.

Category B (3 scholarships available) – Invest your talent in Italy

Successful candidates will benefit from a 50% reduction in the annual tuition fee of € 9,000. Moreover, they will receive € 8,000 per year to cover their living expenses.

Category C (3 scholarships available)

Successful candidates will benefit from a 50% reduction in the annual tuition fee of € 9,000.

All chosen candidates will be offered the possibility to complete an internship in one of the various Italian companies that cooperate with Luiss in this regard.

The application is automatically for all three scholarship categories, no application for a single scholarship category is possible.

Selection procedure

The selection will be based on the results of a selection test and personal interview. Both the selection test and the interview will take place at the end of April in two Indian cities (most probably Mumbai and New Delhi).

The selection test will be a GMAT-style test and aims at testing the background knowledge in economics of the candidate. The interview will be held with one of the University’s professors and should give information on the motivation and suitability of the candidate to study in Italy.

Detailed information on the date and the venue of the selection in India will be communicated to the candidates at a later stage.

Please note that the allocation of the scholarships of the different categories will be solely done on a merit-basis, which means that the two best candidates will be offered scholarships in category A and so on.
