African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) PhD Fellowships
The African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) is offering PhD fellowships in the field of Economics. Applicant must be a Kenyan citizen and have applied and been admitted to any one of the listed partner Universities. Applicants must have attained at least a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent in Economics or related field from an accredited university. Application should be submitted till June 30, 2014.
Kenya Sheffield Scholarships for Postgraduate Students
University of Sheffield is offering Kenya scholarships for starting a postgraduate taught masters programme in September 2014. The scholarships are for full-time and part-time students only. The scholarships are: £1,000 each for studying Nanotechnology courses (jointly run with the University of Leeds), £1,500 each for students paying fees between £13,390 – £15,410 and £2,000 each for students paying fees of £15,411 and upwards. The application deadline is 27 June 2014.
Gradlink Africa Scholarship in UK, 2014
The Gradlink with UWE Bristol University is offering seven Africa scholarships for Ghanaian, Kenyan and Nigerian students. Recipients of this scholarship will be required to undertake an internship working with the Gradlink development team. This scholarship is for pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degree. Scholarships will be offered for the period of one academic year. Applicants can apply till 31st May 2014.
Norman E. Borlaug LEAP Fellowships for Sub-Saharan
Applications are invited for Norman E. Borlaug LEAP (Leadership Enhancement in Agriculture Program) fellowships available for Sub-Saharan African students. The program supports engaging a mentor at a US university and a CGIAR center. The award level is US$20,000 for a maximum of one year. The application deadline is May 1, 2014
Kenya Merit Postgraduate Scholarships in UK, 2014
University of Sheffield is accepting applicants for merit postgraduate scholarships. Scholarships are available for Kenyan students who hold an offer of a study place for entry in September 2014. Each scholarship is worth £7,000 of postgraduate taught master’s degree tuition fee per year, for one year of study. The application deadline is 27 June 2014.
2015 CICOPS Scholarships for Developing Countries
Each year, the University of Pavia and the Organisation for the Right to Education (EDiSU) offer 10 scholarships for visiting scholars for a period of stay of 4 to 10 weeks at the University of Pavia. The scholarships are available for both junior and senior members of universities in developing countries and members of major research centres and international organizations with specific interests in the field of development studies. The application deadline is May 31st, 2014.
MBA Scholarships for International Students
University of Glasgow is offering MBA scholarships for international students commencing in September 2014. A total of 5 scholarships are available. The value of each scholarship is £5,000. The criteria for the scholarships are academic excellence and personal achievement. Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of their application for admission. The application deadline is 1 July 2014.
Georgetown University is offering master scholarship for Sub-Saharan African students. Students will take courses in international relations, international trade, international finance, statistics and analytical tools and history. In addition, students choose an area of concentration such as Global Politics and Security, International Development or Global Business and Finance. Application should be submitted till January 15, 2015 for fall 2015.
British Council Scotland Commonwealth Scholarships in UK, 2014
Applications are invited for British Council Scotland Commonwealth Scholarships available for students from Commonwealth countries. Scholarships are open for literature and creative writing students to attend the summer school. Two 2-week Literature scholarships and one 4-week Creative Writing scholarship will be awarded. Applications should be submitted till 21st March 2014.
INSEAD Orange Endowed Scholarships for Emerging Markets, 2014
Applications are invited for INSEAD Orange Endowed Scholarships for MBA Students. This endowed scholarship will support emerging market participants at INSEAD in perpetuity. Scholarships are available for students of Armenia, Brazil, Central African Republic, Dominican Republic, Egypt, India, Kenya, Madagascar, Moldova, Niger, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, United Arab Emirates (Dubai) and Uganda. The applications for Round 2 will open from 14 January 2014 till 31 January 2014 and for Round 3 from 14 April 2014 till 28 April 2014.
Masters Fellowships in Public Health and Tropical Medicine, 2014
Wellcome Trust is offering masters fellowships for junior researchers to gain research experience and high-quality research training at Master’s degree level. A Fellowship normally provides up to 30 months’ support. Fellows must be based in a low- or middle-income country for their research project. The application deadline is 15 August 2014.
Intermediate Fellowships for Kenyan Students
The fellowships for Kenyan students are available for pursuing research programme. Fellows must be based primarily in a low- and middle-income country. The fellowships are awarded for up to five years and provide a basic salary which will be based on the pay scales of the employing institution or allowances and cover research expenses, training costs. Preliminary application deadline is 25 April 2014 and full application deadline is 4 July 2014.
Newcastle University Kenya Scholarships for Postgraduate Students in UK, 2014
The International Office of Newcastle University is announcing Kenya scholarships for postgraduate students in UK. To be eligible applicants must have been offered a place on any postgraduate degree programme in the Science, Agriculture and Engineering (SAgE) Faculty, Medical Sciences Faculty (FMS), Newcastle Law School and Newcastle University Business School (NUBS). The application deadline is 30th June 2014.
Steve Huckvale Scholarships for African Students at University of Bath in UK, 2014
University of Bath is offering scholarships for African students. These scholarships are available to taught masters applicants who are intending to study Engineering or Management. Each Scholarship is worth £5,000. Each is awarded as a discount in tuition fees and is for one year only. Scholarships cannot be deferred to a later year. The application deadline is 30th June 2014.
University of Glasgow Country Scholarships for Kenyan Students
University of Glasgow is offering a total of 40 scholarships for postgraduate students to learn any of the courses except clinical courses. Applicants must hold the equivalent of an upper second class honours degree. Each scholarship amounts £5,000. The application deadline is 1 June 2014.
Ford Motor Company International Fellowship
Fellowships are provided in nonprofit management strategy and leadership training. The fellowships will provide airfare, accommodation, food, transportation, instruction and other program-related expenses. Each participant receives a stipend upon arrival. June 30, 2014 is the application deadline.
Professor Arthur Li Development Scholarship
Scholarship for Kenyan students is provided to learn any of the courses offered by the University of the West of England in UK. One full tuition fee scholarship will be available for an outstanding student to study a one year masters programme at University of the West of England. Applicants must have achieved the equivalent of a British 1st in their undergraduate degree. The application deadline is 31st May 2014.
Wellcome Trust International Engagement Awards
Awards support public engagement projects and work that builds capacity for engagement with biomedical research. The scholarships will provide up to £30,000 for three years. Applicant must be or collaborating with a researcher, research group or institution to provide expertise in the area of biomedical science you are exploring. Applications should be submitted till 18th April 2014.
Development Scholarships for Kenyan Students
Scholarships for Kenyan students are available for pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree level at Charles University. Applications for these scholarships are open to all students from developing countries. Five scholarships are available. The deadline for scholarship applications is 30th April 2014.
University of Groningen Talent Grant for Non-EEA Countries in Netherlands, 2014
Applications are invited for University of Groningen Talent Grant for Excellent candidates from non-EEA countries. Grant is awarded to students who have been admitted to one of the Faculty of Arts Research Master’s Programmes. The grant is usually awarded for a maximum of 2 years for a Master’s degree programme. The amount of the partial scholarship is determined annually. Application should be submitted till 1st March, 2014.
Marshal Papworth Scholarships for Kenyan Students
Scholarships for Kenyan students are provided in the fields of Sustainable Development, Waste Management and International Horticulture. Marshal Papworth scholarship fund one-year postgraduate courses such as MSc or MA. The application deadline is 24th March 2014.
International Space University MSc Scholarship Program
Scholarship for Kenyan students is offered for pursuing masters degree at International Space University. Scholarship is granted on the basis of academic and professional merit, financial need and demonstrated financial need. This aid is available to selected applicants and covers a portion of their fees. Online application deadline is 15th March 2014.
Georg Forster Research Fellowship
The Humboldt Foundation grants up to 80 Georg Forster Research Fellowships for postdoctoral researchers. The fellowship is provided to learn any of the courses offered by the research institution in Germany. The fellowship is worth 3,150 EUR per month. Applications can be submitted no earlier than 01.07.2013 until mid-2015 (exact date TBD).
Georg Forster Research Fellowship
Fellowship is awarded to conduct a self-selected, long-term research project in cooperation with a self-selected academic host at a research institution in Germany. Applicants must have completed PhD or comparable academic degree (PhD, C.Sc. or equivalent), for no more than four years the date of application. Applications may be submitted any time from 1.7.2013 until mid-2015.
Early Career Development Fellowship
This fellowship is available for early career development and continuing education for library and information science professionals. Applicants must be a legal national from a qualifying country and be working as a librarian or information science professional in that country. The deadline for applications is February 14, 2014.
Netherlands Fellowship Programmes
NFP offers fellowships for master’s, PhD and short courses. Applicants can apply for Master’s degree programmes and short courses in the application period of December 2013- February 2014. Students must be a national of one of the countries in the NFP country list valid at the time of application. Application should be submitted till 4th February 2014.
RNTC Fellowships for Kenyan Students
Fellowships are available for RNTC postgraduate courses of different duration. The fellowships for Kenyan students will be awarded on academic and professional merit. RNTC’s Fellowships are available for professional journalists, programme-makers, broadcast trainers and managers coming from the following countries. The application deadline differs from subject to subject.
IDRC Doctoral Research Awards for Kenyan Students
Awards are available for Kenyan students pursuing doctoral studies at a Canadian university. Approximately 20 to 25 awards are offered per competition and will cover justifiable field research expenses up to CA$20,000 a year. Candidates must provide evidence of affiliation with an institution or organization in the developing region(s) in which the research will take place. The application deadline is April 2, 2014.
TDR Advanced Postdoctoral Research and Training Grants
Grants are awarded in the area of implementation research and research management, including effective use of research findings to inform policy and practice. All applications must be proposed as an integral part of an institutional development programme where they are employed and the career plan for the applicant defined. The deadline for applications is 7 February 2014.
Ramanujan Prize for Young Mathematicians
Prize is available for young mathematicians who have conducted outstanding research in a developing country. The Ramanujan Prize carries a $15,000 cash award. The Prize winner must be less than 45 years of age on 31 December of the year of the award. Last date of submitting applications is February 1, 2014.
TDR Postgraduate Training Grants for Kenyan Students
Grants are available for postgraduate training leading to MSc and PhD degrees. Women are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants must have no more than three and five year’s post-graduation for men and women respectively. Online application must be submitted by 7 February 2014.
TWAS Prizes for Kenyan Students
The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) is awarding eight prizes of USD 15,000 each to individual scientists who have been working and living in a developing country for at least ten years. Outstanding contribution to the application of Science and Technology to industry or to human well-being in a developing country will be considered. The application deadline is 28th February 2014.
South–North PhD Sandwich Scholarships for Kenyan Students
Scholarships for Kenyan students are available for to pursue research at the University of Hohenheim. Candidates must have outstanding study performance in agricultural, nutritional, natural, social, economic or political sciences. FSC awards up to three visiting Sandwich scholarships for a period of six months. Applications will close on January 19, 2014.
INSA JRD-Tata Fellowship Programme
The Indian National Science Academy (INSA) offers fellowship programme for developing countries in India. The fellowship covers return airfare from place of work in their home country to place of work in India, boarding and lodging at the affiliated institution/s. An adequate allowance in Indian currency is also available to cover incidental expenses. The application deadline is 31st October each year.
