SAWISE Angus Scholarship for Sub-Saharan Black Female
The Association of South African Women in Science and Engineering (SAWISE) is awarding scholarship for black female from sub-Saharan Africa. Scholarship is awarded only for studies at Honours level (or 4th year equivalent e.g. in engineering) in any field of science and engineering. The value of scholarship is R15 000 p.a. for a period of one year. South African applicants will be given preference. The application deadline is 15 November annually.
International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) is awarding postdoctoral fellowships for scientists wishing to pursue postdoctoral research in a world-class scientific environment. The Fellowships consist of a very competitive package including stipend, health insurance and additional benefits. Fellowship is awarded for the duration of 2 years with the possibility of a 1-year extension. The application deadline is 30 September 2015.
Awards support public engagement projects and work that builds capacity for engagement with biomedical research. The scholarships will provide up to £30,000 for three years. Applicant must be or collaborating with a researcher, research group or institution to provide expertise in the area of biomedical science you are exploring. Mexican Government Scholarship Program
Applications are invited for Mexican Government scholarship program available for foreign students. Scholarships for academic studies are offered for those who preferred to take complete programs for Specialization, Master’s or PhD Degrees and Postgraduate Researches. Likewise, the offer includes academic mobility for Bachelor’s and Postgraduate Degree. The scholarships of between GBP £1000 – £3000 are for entry onto a full time postgraduate programme in September 2015 and January 2016. Applications for courses are submitted by July for courses starting in September and by the end of November for courses starting in January.
Kenya Education Fund (KEF) Scholarships for High School Students
Kenya Education Fund is awarding scholarships for Kenyan students who, without external support, would be unable to access high school in their own country. Scholarship lasts 4-years, covering grades 9-12 for a student in boarding school. KEF scholarship recipients range from urban slum-dwellers to rural nomadic families to refugees raised in Kenyan camps. KEF scholarships are given on the basis of two major criteria: need & merit. ESMT Masters in Management Scholarships
European School of Management and Technology (ESMT) is inviting applications for masters in management scholarships to cover partial tuition. There are four types of scholarships available: one ESMT Americas Scholarship; one ESMT Asia Scholarship; one ESMT Central and Eastern Europe Scholarship and one ESMT Middle East and Africa Scholarship. The value of each scholarship is up to € 10,000. The application deadlines are May 31 and July 31.
Keele-Kenya Scholarships for Kenyan Students
Keele University is offering Kenya scholarships for master students in the field of Environmental Sustainability and Green Technology. Scholarships are open for Kenyan students. Candidates must have a first class honours degree. Three Scholarships are offered. One full tuition fee (100% scholarship) scholarship is available and two 50% tuition fee scholarships available to students wishing to study any taught master’s at Keele University. Intermediate Fellowships for Kenyan Students
The fellowships for Kenyan students are available for pursuing research programme. Fellows must be based primarily in a low- and middle-income country. The fellowships are awarded for up to five years and provide a basic salary which will be based on the pay scales of the employing institution or allowances and cover research expenses, training costs. Newcastle University East Africa Scholarship for Kenyan Students
Newcastle University announces a Newcastle University East Africa Scholarship award for Students from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Ethiopia. This is available for high achieving East African students applying for entry onto undergraduate degree programmes, commencing their studies in September 2015. The scholarship will have a value of £3,500, payable towards the first year of tuition fees. Each scholarship will have a value of £5,000, payable towards the first year of tuition fees. The University awards scholarships on the basis of academic merit. The application deadline is 30th June 2015.
Ford Motor Company International Fellowship
Fellowships are provided in nonprofit management strategy and leadership training. The fellowships will provide airfare, accommodation, food, transportation, instruction and other program-related expenses. Each participant receives a stipend upon arrival. The application deadline is June 30, 2015.
ANESI’s Visiting Fellowship for Outstanding Women Geoscientists
Applications are invited for ANESI’s visiting Fellowship for Outstanding Women Geoscientists. Fellowship is available for best performing female students to pursue post-graduate education (PhD programmes) and career in Earth sciences. A maximum grant of 2500 USD/fellow will cover the travel and subsistence costs. Two months Visiting fellowships is funded in the general framework of 2014-2017 Programme Cooperation Agreement between UNESCO and the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida). RCPE UK and International Scholarships
Applications are invited for UK and International Scholarships for the academic year 2015-2016. Scholarships are awarded to undertake the joint University of Edinburgh/RCPE MSc in Internal Medicine. Kenya Merit Postgraduate Scholarships in UK

KCAU Chancellor’s Award for Bachelor Programme
Applications are invited from Kenyan students to apply for KCAU Chancellor’s Award. The awarded is open to study the following degree programmes: Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Business in Information Technology and Bachelor of Commerce at the KCA University. Applicants should have a minimum of KCSE mean grade A- (minus) with a B (plain) in English and Mathematics and should have sat for KCSE not more than 2 years from the time of application. Steve Huckvale Scholarships for Kenyan Students
University of Bath is awarding scholarships for African students who are intending to study Engineering or Management. All the scholarships are for international fee-paying applicants for full-time taught masters degrees (MA/MSc/MBA) at the University of Bath in 2015. Each Scholarship is of worth £5,000. The scholarships range from £2,000 to £5,000 depending on the type of scholarship. Each is awarded as a discount in tuition fees and is for one year only. Scholarships cannot be deferred to a later year. The application deadline is 1 June 2015.
St. Paul’s University Partial Scholarship for Kenyan Students
St. Paul’s University is awarding a limited number of partial scholarships for Kenyan students. Scholarships are available for pursuing full-time degree programme. IDRC Doctoral Research Awards for Kenyan Students
Applications are invited for IDRC research awards available for the citizens of Canada and developing countries who have completed a master’s or doctoral degree at a recognized university. Research award recipients will undertake a one-year paid program of research on the topic they submitted when competing for the award. The award will cover justifiable field research expenses up to CA$20,000 a year. Awardees are considered to be full-time employees of IDRC. Application deadline is May 20, 2015.

University of Nairobi hereby in collaboration with the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) in Nairobi, the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and Lund University, Sweden is offering a PhD Scholarship for Kenyan Students. Scholarship is awarded in the field of Agricultural Resource Management/Applied Economics, Geography and Geoinformatics in an Interdisciplinary Research Project. UCL IGH African Graduate Scholarships
UCL Institute for Global Health is offering African graduate scholarships to study MSc Global Health and Development programme at UCL. The scholarship is a one-off award for the academic year September-September. The scheme offers a substantial scholarship towards UCL tuition fees, accommodation and some living costs. The application deadline is 8th May 2015.
Scholarships for Kenyan students are available for pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree level at Charles University. Applications for these scholarships are open to all students from developing countries. Five scholarships are available. The deadline for scholarship applications is 30th April 2015.
University of Nottingham is inviting applications for developing solutions masters scholarships available for the students of Africa, India or one of the listed countries of the Commonwealth. Applicants must already hold an offer to start a full-time masters degree programme, including MRes at Nottingham for September 2015. Up to 105 scholarships are awarded. Up to 30 scholarships will cover 100% tuition fee and up to 75 scholarships will cover 50% towards tuition fees. The application deadline is 24 April 2015.
Applications are invited for Abraaj RCA Scholarship for pursuing masters degree programme. Every year, for a period of five years, a cohort of five outstanding scholars will be selected for the scholarship. Scholarship will cover full international tuition fees to study at a Master’s level for two years at the Royal College of Art in London. A significant contribution towards living costs will also be provided. The application deadline is 10 April, 2015.
RNTC Fellowships for Kenyan Students
Fellowships are available for RNTC postgraduate courses of different duration. The fellowships for Kenyan students will be awarded on academic and professional merit. Masters Fellowships in Public Health and Tropical Medicine, 2015
Wellcome Trust is offering masters fellowships for junior researchers to gain research experience and high-quality research training at Master’s degree level. Law School Postgraduate Taught Scholarships
Applications are invited for postgraduate taught scholarships within the School of Law at University of Warwick. Total 18 scholarships will be awarded to study all taught LLM programmes. EASST Visiting Fellowship for East African Researchers
The East Africa Social Science Translation (EASST) invites East African researchers to apply for a 4-month fellowship at the University of California Berkeley. Each Visiting Fellow will be paired with a faculty mentor affiliated with the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA), a research network based in USA. Fellows may visit either during the fall semester (approximately August 20 – December 20, 2015) or the spring semester (approximately January 20 – May 20, 2016). International Space University MSc Scholarship Program
Scholarship for Kenyan students is offered for pursuing masters degree at International Space University. Scholarship is granted on the basis of academic and professional merit, financial need and demonstrated financial need. Applicants for the MSc programs 2015 requesting scholarships should apply online on the ISU website before 15th March 2015.
Netherlands Fellowship Programmes
Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the budget for development cooperation annually awards fully-funded Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP). The NFP is meant for professionals who are nationals of and work and live in one of the 51 NFP countries. Candidates have to be nominated by their employer to be eligible for the fellowship. NFP will be awarded for master degree programmes, PhD and short courses at a Dutch higher education institution which offers the NFP-qualified course. The chances of obtaining an NFP fellowship increase if applicants live and work in Sub-Saharan Africa and/or if they are women. Candidates now need to apply for an NFP fellowship directly at the Dutch education institution, instead of applying with Nuffic.
High Achiever Foundation Prize for African Students at University of Nottingham in UK, 2015
University of Nottingham is inviting applications for high achiever foundation prizes available for African students. Up to three prizes of £2,000 towards tuition fees will be awarded for the first year only. Applicants should already hold an offer to start a full-time foundation programme at Nottingham in September 2015. Students will only be eligible to receive this high achiever prize if they meet the conditions of their academic offer. The application deadline is 27 March 2015.
TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits Programme for Kenyan Students
German Research Foundation is inviting applications for TWAS-DFG cooperation visits programme available for Sub-Saharan Africans. Fellowship is open for postdoctoral researchers from sub-Saharan Africa, including South Africa, with the opportunity to make a ‘Cooperation Visit’ to an institute in Germany of no more than 3 months. The application deadline is 31 March each year.
New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarships for Master and PhD Students
The New Zealand Government offers commonwealth scholarship for the students of participating developing commonwealth countries. The scholarship is offered for master and PhD studies at New Zealand universities. The scholarships will cover tuition and enrolment fees and provide an establishment allowance, a basic stipend, approved scholarship-related travel, some course-related costs and medical and travel insurance. To apply for these scholarships applicants must submit application to their nominating agency.
Africa Regional Bursary for Master Students
Cambridge Judge Business School offers Bursary for African students to pursue MBA programme. A bursary worth up to £18,000 will be awarded to a successful African candidate. To be eligible for this bursary, applicants meet the usual requirements for the Cambridge MBA. Candidates should apply for admission to the Cambridge MBA in the normal way for applying this bursary.
Georg Forster Research Fellowship
Fellowship is awarded to conduct a self-selected, long-term research project in cooperation with a self-selected academic host at a research institution in Germany. Applicants must have completed PhD or comparable academic degree (PhD, C.Sc. or equivalent), for no more than four years the date of application. Applications may be submitted any time from 1.7.2013 until mid-2015.
University of Groningen Talent Grant for Non-EEA Countries in Netherlands, 2015-2016
Applications are invited for University of Groningen Talent Grant for Excellent candidates from non-EEA countries. Grant is awarded to students who have been admitted to one of the Faculty of Arts Research Master’s Programmes. The grant is usually awarded for a maximum of 2 years for a Master’s degree programme. The grant values 50% of the annual tuition fee to be paid in monthly instalments as a contribution in living costs. In 2015-2016 this will be €450 per month. Application should be submitted till 1st March.
Science and Engineering Scholarships for Kenyan Students
University of Aberdeen is offering Science and Engineering Scholarships for 2015-2016 academic year. Students of Azerbaijan, China, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand and Uganda are eligible to apply for this scholarship programme. The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) is awarding eight prizes of USD 15,000 each to individual scientists who have been working and living in a developing country for at least ten years. IJP Southern African Journalists’ Bursary Programme
Applications are invited for Journalism Bursary programme for 2015 academic year. This fellowship is available for early career development and continuing education for library and information science professionals. Applicants must be a legal national from a qualifying country and be working as a librarian or information science professional in that country. The deadline for applications is February 13, 2015.
ICDD PhD Scholarships for Kenyan Students
The International Center for Development and Decent Work (ICDD) offers PhD Positions. Positions are open for citizenship of an ODA recipient country. The position is available to apply for a PhD scholarship in a particular academic field at an ICDD partner university. Eldred-Waverley Scholarship for MSc African Studies at Linacre College in UK 2015
University of Oxford is awarding MSc scholarship in African Studies for the students of sub-Saharan Africa. This scholarship is only tenable at Linacre College. All eligible applicants will be considered for this scholarship, regardless of which college (if any) they state as their preference on the graduate application form. However, successful applicants will be transferred to Linacre College in order to take up the scholarship. The scholarship will cover 100% of University and college fees, a grant for living costs (of at least £10,397) and a return flight from your home country to UK. The application deadline is 23 January 2015.
TGCL Scholarship for Postgraduate Study Programme in Law, 2015
Applications are invited for TGCL scholarship available for entry into a postgraduate study programme in law (LLM or PhD) offered by TGCL starting on 1 August, 2015. A limited number of scholarships are awarded to students of East African Community Partner States i.e. Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda. The LLM scholarship covers a period of one year and the PhD scholarship covers a period of three years. The scholarships cover university fees, health insurance, the cost of living (including miscellaneous charges) of 2,400/3,000 EUR per annum for Tanzanians/Non-Tanzanians. Furthermore, a lump sum of 460 EUR for LLM and 920 EUR for PhD will be paid for the cost of research. The closing date for applications is 15 January, 2015.
Georg Forster Research Fellowship for Developing Countries in Germany, 2015
The Humboldt Foundation grants up to 80 Georg Forster Research Fellowships for postdoctoral researchers. The fellowship is provided to learn any of the courses offered by the research institution in Germany. The award amount totals EUR 60,000. The application deadline is 15 January, 2015.
INSEAD Orange Endowed Scholarships for Emerging Markets, 2016

African Peacebuilding Network (APN) Individual Research Grants in Africa, 2015
Applications are invited for APN individual research grants available for African researchers, policy analysts and practitioners working on conflict and peacebuilding issues at universities and research institutions or regional governmental and nongovernmental organizations in Africa. All applicants must be African citizens currently residing in an African country. Up to ten individual grants of $15,000 will be awarded. Grants are awarded on a competitive, peer-reviewed basis and are intended to support six months of field-based research, from May 2015 to November 2015. During their grant period, grantees are required to participate in two workshops organized by the APN. The applications deadline is December 14, 2014.
African Peacebuilding Network (APN) Residential Postdoctoral Fellowship Program
The African Peace building Network of the Social Science Research Council is offering residential postdoctoral fellowships for African academics and researchers who work on conflict and peacebuilding and are based in universities in Africa. Fellows are expected to spend two months at a university or research center in Africa located outside the fellow’s home country and a third month at either a university or a policy or practitioner institution in the United States. Selected fellows will produce research-based knowledge that is relevant to and has a significant impact on, peacebuilding policy and practice on the continent. The application deadline is December 14th 2014.
Imam Bukhari and Imam Tirmizi Visiting Research Fellowships in UK, 2015
Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies is funding research fellowships for the Asian or African citizens. Preference will be given to those studying classical Islamic sciences, although other areas in the humanities and social sciences will be considered. The Fellowships will be tenable from 1 October 2015 for a minimum period of three months. Each Fellowship carries a stipend of £3,000 and membership of the Common Room. Application should be submitted till 6th December 2014.
Norman E. Borlaug LEAP Fellowships for Sub-Saharan
Applications are invited for Norman E. Borlaug LEAP (Leadership Enhancement in Agriculture Program) fellowships available for Sub-Saharan African students. The program supports engaging a mentor at a US university and a CGIAR center. The award level is US$20,000 for a maximum of one year. The application deadline is March 31, 2015.
Africa London Nagasaki (ALN) MSc Scholarship for African Scientists, 2015
Applications are invited for Africa London Nagasaki Scholarships available for African scientists to undertake a Master’s degree related to the control of infectious diseases in Africa. Scholarships will award to study either the Institute of Tropical Medicine or at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Up to four scientists will receive up to a maximum award of US $50,000 each to cover tuition fees, travel and living expenses. The application deadline is 12 September 2014.
SKA/SA PhD and MSc Bursary Programme in South Africa, 2015
The South African SKA Project has announced the call for applications for postgraduate bursary programme. This bursary programme is available for South African citizens and citizens of Namibia, Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique, Madagascar, Mauritius, Kenya and Ghana to study at a South African university or at a university in an SKA SA partner country. The maximum period of support for MSc degree is two years and for PhD degree is three years. The closing date for applications is 15 September 2014.
Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships
Swiss Government, through the Federal Commission offers excellence scholarships for foreign scholars and artists in Switzerland. The scholarships are available for pursuing PhD, postdoctoral and research programs at one of the public funded universities or recognized institution. The applicant must not be more than 35 years old at the moment of the application. The Scholarship is only valid for a full time Postdoctoral Research or Research in Switzerland. It is not valid for mixed Postdoctoral Research or mixed Research (part time in Switzerland and part time in a third country).
Canadian Government Doctoral Research Scholarships
Each year, the government of Canada offers doctoral research scholarships for international students. Scholarships are awarded for pursuing doctoral studies at Québec University in the natural sciences, mathematics and engineering fields. The maximum annual value of the scholarship is $20 000. The scholarship holder may also receive up to nine payments totaling $60 000 during the nine sessions or 36 months. Only students who have been pre selected by a Québec university may apply for these scholarships. Applicants must consult the deadlines of the universities for pre selection. The deadline for submitting complete files directly to the FRQNT is November 1st, 2014.
Chevening Scholarships for Postgraduate Students
Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations offer Chevening scholarships for master students. The programme provides full or part funding for full-time courses at postgraduate level, normally a one-year Master’s degree in any subject and at any UK University. Chevening scholarships cover tuition fees, a living allowance at a set rate (for one individual), an economy class return airfare to the UK and additional grants to cover essential expenditure. Some Scholarships cover part of the cost of studying in the UK; for example, tuition fees only or allowances only. The application deadline is 15th November 2014.
WAAW Foundation Scholarship for Undergraduate African Women, 2015
Applications are invited for WAAW Foundation 2015 scholarship. Scholarships are available for African women to study as full time students in a STEM related course at a University, College or institute of higher learning in Africa. Sri Lankan Government Presidential Scholarships
Applications are invited for up to 100 Sri Lankan Government Scholarships available for foreign students to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate degree commencing in December 2014 in Sri Lanka. Scholarships are open for courses of studies other than Medical & Dental Sciences. Every student is required to undergo an HIV/AIDS test within a month after arrival. Candidates should apply for this scholarship with the recommendation of the government scholarship nominating agency (Ministry/Institution) of the respective country till 15th October, 2014.
KJ Bathe SEMC Doctoral Scholarships in South Africa, 2015
Applications are invited for the KJ Bathe SEMC doctoral scholarships available for South African and scholars from other African countries to study at University of Cape Town. Candidates who in 2015 will be registering for the first or second year of a PhD degree at the University of Cape Town are eligible to apply for these awards. The scholarships are each valued at R100,000 per annum and are tenable for one year. The scholarship will not extend beyond 3 years of full-time PhD registration. The application deadline is 30th September 2014.
Graduate School Scholarships for International Students
Stellenbosch University is offering graduate school scholarships for pursuing full-time residential doctoral programme in all academic disciplines available within the Faculty of Economics and Managements Sciences. A candidate has to meet the minimum criteria for admission to a PhD at Stellenbosch University. Application should be submitted till 31st July 2014 for the 2015 uptake of the Graduate School.
DAAD Master Scholarships for Public Policy and Good Governance
DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) is funding master scholarships in Public Policy and Good Governance at German institution in Germany. A monthly scholarship rate of currently 750 € will be awarded. Scholarships also provide health insurance, travel allowance as well as a study and research subsidy and in applicable cases accommodation subsidies and/or family allowances. Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) invites applications for college scholarships available for international students to study at a Japanese college of technology. A graduated grantee will be awarded a diploma and an associate degree. Scholarship awards will be tenable for four years from April, 2015 to March, 2019 including one-year preparatory education in the Japanese language and other subjects due to be provided upon arrival in Japan.
MMMF Grant for Women of Developing Countries
Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund is offering grant for women of developing countries in South Africa. Applicant must be women and enrolled at the University of Pretoria, the University of Cape Town, the University of Stellenbosch or the University of Witwatersrand. The deadline for applications is August 31, 2014.
ACU Commonwealth Scholarship
The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) is awarding a Commonwealth scholarship for pursuing master degree at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology. Applicants must be citizens of any Commonwealth country except Pakistan and hold a degree (earned after 16 years of education) in the relevant field from an accredited institution of higher education, with CGPA of 2.5/4.0 under semester system, or not less than 60% marks under annual system. Applications should be submitted till 30th June 2014 for fall 2014 session.
Collaborative Master’s in Agricultural and Applied Economics (CMAAE) MSc Fellowships
African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) is funding Agricultural and Applied Economics (CMAAE) MSc fellowships. Fellowships will be available in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, and South Africa. Applicants must be enrolled in any of the collaborating or partner universities. Postdoctoral Fellowships in Social Sciences

The Gradlink with UWE Bristol University is offering seven Africa scholarships for Ghanaian, Kenyan and Nigerian students. MBA Scholarships for International Students
University of Glasgow is offering MBA scholarships for international students commencing in September 2014. A total of 5 scholarships are available. The value of each scholarship is £5,000. The criteria for the scholarships are academic excellence and personal achievement. Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of their application for admission. TDR Postgraduate Training Grants for Kenyan Students
Grants are available for postgraduate training leading to MSc and PhD degrees. Women are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants must have no more than three and five year’s post-graduation for men and women respectively. Online application must be submitted by 7 February 2014.
South–North PhD Sandwich Scholarships for Kenyan Students
Scholarships for Kenyan students are available for to pursue research at the University of Hohenheim. Candidates must have outstanding study performance in agricultural, nutritional, natural, social, economic or political sciences. FSC awards up to three visiting Sandwich scholarships for a period of six months. Applications will close on January 19, 2014.
INSA JRD-Tata Fellowship Programme
The Indian National Science Academy (INSA) offers fellowship programme for developing countries in India. The fellowship covers return airfare from place of work in their home country to place of work in India, boarding and lodging at the affiliated institution/s. An adequate allowance in Indian currency is also available to cover incidental expenses. The application deadline is 31st October each year.
