Asia Leadership Fellowship Program (ALFP) in Japan
Scholarship Provider: The International House of Japan and the Japan Foundation.
Eligible Students:  Applicants must have a good command of English to engage in deep and substantial discussions in English. The ALFP is open to citizens of Northeast-, Southeast- and South-Asian countries and regions, aged 35 to 59, inclusive.
Course: Fellowship is available for collaborative and individual research/exchange activities.

Eligible Students: To be eligible for the scholarship the applicant must be a national or legal resident of a low- and middle-income country.
Courses: Fellowships are available for an independent research program.
Award Details: Fellowships provide support that includes: a basic salary for the fellow -research expenses (e.g. consumables, equipment, collaborative travel, research assistance, technical support, and fieldwork and data collection); training costs where appropriate and justified an inflation and flexible funding allowance -support to attend scientific meetings; provision for public engagement costs. Contributions to costs of the project which are directly incurred by the overseas institution may be provided.

Canadian Government Doctoral Research Scholarships for Nepalese Students
Scholarship Provider: Government of Canada
Eligible Students: To be eligible for the scholarship the applicant should not be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada; Must not have applied for permanent residence under the Canadian immigration laws.
Courses: Scholarships are available for pursuing doctoral studies at Québec University.
Award Details: The maximum annual value of the doctoral research scholarship for international students is $20 000. During the eligibility period (nine sessions or 36 months), the scholarship holder may receive up to nine payments totaling $60 000. Each payment is up to $6 667 covers a period of four months or one session.

NEF Research Grant Program for Asia-Pacific Region

Award Details: The maximum grant size in this program is 500,000 Japanese yen per project for a maximum duration of two year.

International Climate Protection Fellowships for Developing Countries in Germany

Course: This fellowship is for pursuing research program in Germany.
Award Details:  The fellowship amount reflects the fellow’s academic and professional qualifications, current position and professional experience and is currently set at 2,150
EUR, 2,450 EUR or 2,750 EUR per month. This includes a mobility lump sum and a contribution towards health and
liability insurance.

IGIDR-IDRC Scholarships and Fellowships for Asian Countries Students
Scholarship Provider:
International Development Research Center, Canada (IDRC)
Eligible Students: The scholarship minimum qualification for admission to M.Sc. program includes one of the following degrees or their equivalents: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Economics/Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Statistics/Bachelor of Science in Physics or Mathematics/Bachelor of Technology/Bachelor of Engineering, with at least a Second Class/Division for Economics discipline and First Class/Division for other disciplines. The applicant must have studied Mathematics at the higher secondary (12 years School Leaving Examination) or higher level.
Courses: Scholarships and fellowships are available to visit IGIDR for a period of 12 months (extendable to a maximum of another 12 months) to undertake doctoral and postdoctoral research in any field within Economics, with a special focus on Labor Market and Industrial Policy.

TUBITAK Graduate Scholarship Program for International Students in Turkey

Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP) for Developing Countries’ Students
Scholarship Provider:
 Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the budget for development cooperation.
Eligible Students: The NFP is meant for professionals who are nationals of and work and live in one of the 51 NFP countries.
Course: Fellowships are available for masters degree program, short courses and PhD Studies at a Dutch higher education institution which offers the NFP-qualified course.
Award Details: An NFP fellowship is intended to supplement the salary that the fellow should continue to receive during the study period. The allowance is a contribution towards the costs of living, the costs of tuition fees, visas, travel, insurance and thesis research. If applicable, the fellowship holder is expected to cover the difference between the actual costs and the amount of the personal NFP allowances.

Award Details: The scholarship will cover: Tuition fees; Economy air travel from the scholar’s place of residence within SAARC to Bhutan and back; Monthly stipend of Nu. 12,000.00 based on existing SAARC scholarship rate to cover logistics and personal expenses; Nominal book allowance and printings (Nu. 5000.00 per year); In-country travel as per Royal Government of Bhutan’s rate (Nu. 150.00 per day while on travel).

Setsutaro Kobayashi Memorial Fund/Foreign Students Research Grant in Japan

Course: Grants are available for conducting research.
Award Details: Maximum 1,200,000 yen per grantee will be available to approximately 32 grantees. An amount from 240,000 to 960,000 yen per grantee was provided to 32 grantees for the 2013 program. (Depending upon the results of the Grantee Screening Committee’s assessment, the actual amount for some grantees could be less than the originally requested amount). The Kobayashi Fund will provide each grantee with a research grant to be used for expenses (transportation/accommodation for travel, purchase of reference books/archives, etc.) pertaining to the research activities in Japan and Asia-Pacific countries/regions.

IDRC Research Awards for Canadian and Developing Countries Students

Course: These awards are intended for field research in one or more developing countries.
Award Details: Salary for one year: CA$39,797-CA$46,070. For payroll purposes, awardees are considered as full-time employees of IDRC. Benefits include Employer contributions to Employment Insurance, Employer Health Tax, Canada Pension Plan, and paid vacation leave. Some travel and research expenses are also supported, up to a maximum of CA$15,000.

Georg Forster Research Fellowship (HERMES) for Nepalese Students

Eligible Students: In providing Georg Forster Research Fellowships for experienced researchers, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation enables highly-qualified scientists and scholars from abroad, who completed their doctorates less than twelve years ago 1 to spend extended periods of research (6-18 months; may be divided up into a maximum of three blocks) in Germany. Candidates are expected to have their own, clearly defined research profile. This means they should usually be working at least at the level of Assistant Professor or Junior Research Group Leader or be able to document independent research work over a number of years.
Course: Fellowship is awarded for postdoctoral researchers to carry out long-term research of their own choice (6 to 24 months) at a research institution in Germany together with an academic host they have chosen yourself.
Award Details: The scholarship covers A monthly fellowship of 2,650 EUR for postdoctoral researchers (doctorate completed within the last four years) or 3,150 EUR for experienced researchers (doctorate completed within the last 12 years).
