Biology deals with the vast subjects like Cell Biology, Microbiology, Marine Biology, Plant Biology and Biotechnology etc. It is a base of medical professions. Biology is the most dynamic and growing sector in science which is basically concerned with the natural science and the life of living organisms. Biology is now a regular subject at schools and universities around the globe and over a million papers are published yearly with a large percent of biology and medicine journals. Below is the compact listing of available scholarships for the students who want to pursue their career in biology stream.

Alison Morton Scholarship in Biology, 2017
Scholarship is available for full-time student enrolled in a BSc (Hons) or MSc in Ecology or Marine Biology. Student must have completed undergraduate study at Victoria University. Students who have held the award for their Honours/Masters Part I year may apply again for the award in their Masters Part II year. One scholarship will be offered for one year. The application deadlines is 1st October 2017.

School of Biological Sciences Taught Postgraduate Bursaries, 2017-2018
The School of Biological Sciences is offering bursaries for applicants studying eligible masters programmes in the 2016-2017 academic session. Each bursary will have a value of £5,000 and is intended to assist with tuition fees.  The bursary is only tenable for one academic year. Applicants must note interest no later than 5th May 2017.

PhD Scholarships in Biology, 2017
Institute of Science and Technology Austria (IST Austria) is inviting applications for PhD position starting in September 2014. The duration of the program is on average four to five years. It is open to applicants from all over the world. In particular, female applicants are encouraged to apply. All PhD students admitted to the program will be offered employment contracts at IST Austria and will receive an internationally competitive salary with full social security coverage. The application deadline is January 8th, 2017.

Biological Sciences Excellence Scholarship, 2017
The Faculty of Biological Sciences is offering scholarships worth up to £1,000 to all new UK/EU-rated, fee-paying applicants who start on one of our undergraduate degree courses at the University of Leeds in 2016 and who have demonstrated academic excellence in their previous studies, subject to the terms of the scheme.

Excellence Scholarship at Newcastle University, 2017
All new UK/EU undergraduates admitted by the School of Biology (C100, C1C7, C180, C300) who have: made Newcastle University their first choice by 1 August and exceeded the combined grades specified in their conditional offer. Applicants do not need to apply for these awards as you will be considered automatically upon receiving your examination results. You will be contacted by the school if you have met all of the criteria.

PhD Position in Biology for International Students, 2017
This position is open for pursuing PhD program at IMPRS for Organismal Biology in Germany. The position is funded for three years. Travel and accommodation expenses are covered by the IMPRS. All students accepted to the program will be supported by stipends or contracts. Candidates need to be fluent in written and spoken English and – unless native speakers – have to document their proficiency in English. Online application must be submitted by January 15.

Excellence Master Fellowships in Biology for International Students in Switzerland, 2017
The Faculty of science of the University of Geneva is awarding excellence master fellowships for students from any country. Fellowship is open to students from any university with very good performance in their studies and that have completed the Bachelor degree or expect to complete it within 6 months. The Excellence Fellowship consists of a grant amounting to CHF 10’000 to CHF 15’000/year (no teaching duties). Selection of the applicants will be based on excellence. The application deadline is 15 March, 2016.
