Science manager position for a post-doc scientist-Cell Biology
The Institute of Experimental Internal Medicine offers a science manager position for a post-doc scientist in the field of Cell Biology. The scientist will be responsible for the science management in a research institute and contribute depending on experience to e.g. lab management, fund raising, patent applications, development of innovative research strategies, public relations work etc.
The research program of the institute encompasses scientific projects on the regulation of cellular signal transmission leading to inflammation and epithelial differentiation in molecular pathogenesis. Our studies mainly focus on clinically important signaling modules like one of the most important regulatory systems involved in the innate immune response and differentiation processes, the NF-kB network. For the comprehensive analysis of the regulatory networks in the cell, we rely on methods in mass spectrometry to evaluate the obtained data. In addition, the question of protein function is studied by innovative approaches of mathematical modeling of signal processes in cellular networks. The molecules of interest studied in the process of molecular pathogenesis could represent protein biomarkers. Herein, investigation of exclusive proteins with a special emphasis on predictive indicators of disease could be helpful in drug discovery and development. The institute possesses high standard techniques e.g. immunofluorescence, Surface-Plasmon-Resonance (Biacore), proteomics, 2-D / MALDI-TOF / ESI-IONTRAP.
