Senior research fellowship for a visiting period at the Department of Economic Sciences “Marco
Fanno”, University of Padova
The Department of Economic Sciences “Marco Fanno” of the University of Padova is pleased to announce a senior research fellowship for a stay of 1-3 months during the Academic Year2009/10.
The fellowship is addressed to experienced researchers with a record of academic excellence in the Department’s fields of interest, including: Accounting, Economics, Econometrics, Finance, History of Economic Thought, and Management Sciences.
The fellow’s stay can range from a minimum of one up to a maximum of three months. The fellow is expected to entertain scientific interactions with the members of the Department, and to actively
participate to the Department’s events. In particular, the fellow should:
- give one or more research seminars and attend those organized by the Department;
- be willing to teach a short course (up to 10 hours) in the Department’s Ph.D. Program in Economics and Management on a topic related to her/his research interests (to be agreed);
- submit for publication in the Department’s working paper series at least one of her/his research works.
The fellowship is incompatible with teaching or research activities in other institutions during the agreed period of stay. Gross salary is 5,000 euros per month, plus reimbursement of travel expenses (terms to be agreed).
The Department will provide office space, a computer with internet connection, and access to the University libraries. Moreover, the fellow will be assisted in finding an accommodation.
Interested candidates should send curriculum vitae, a brief statement describing their research interests, and the proposed period of stay (possibly with two or more alternatives).
A Committee will select one or more candidates on the basis of their publication record with special reference to the last five years, length of stay (longer stays are preferred), season (summer is least desirable), and congruence between their fields of research and those of the Department’s scholars.
The deadline for application is October 31st 2008. All candidates will be informed of the Committee’s decisions before December 31st 2008.
