Applications are invited for Singapore-Stanford Biodesign Fellowship. Successful applicants should have advanced degrees (e.g. Master, PhD, M.D, and M.B.B.S.) and/or significant industry work experience. The SSB Fellows will receive a stipend, tuition and international travel support.

The full-time SSB Fellowship will last for a period of 12 months and begin in January. Six months will be spent at Stanford University and thereafter six months in Singapore. Each SSB Fellow is required to work in Singapore for 2 years, right after completion of the Fellowship.

The Singapore-Stanford Biodesign (SSB) Fellowship seeks to train and nurture the next generation of Asian medical device innovators in Singapore, serving Asia and beyond. This highly competitive fellowship is directed towards creative and entrepreneurial Singapore citizens or Permanent Residents, who have a strong interest in invention and early-stage development of new medical technologies.

Eligibility

Singapore-Stanford Biodesign is looking for individuals with a strong interest in Asian medical device innovation. Priority will be given to Singapore citizens or Permanent Residents. Successful applicants should have advanced degrees (e.g. Master, Ph.D., M.D., M.B.B.S.) and/or significant industry work experience. Candidates will be judged in terms of their potential to become leaders in biomedical technology innovation, including demonstrated potential in creativity and invention.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Singapore citizens or Permanent Residents are eligible to apply for this programme.

The number of awards (s): 4 Fellows will be selected each year.

Duration of award(s): The full-time SSB Fellowship will last for a period of 12 months and begin in January. Six months will be spent at Stanford University and thereafter six months in Singapore.

What does it cover? The SSB Fellows will receive a stipend, tuition and international travel support. Each SSB Fellow is required to work in Singapore for 2 years, right after completion of the Fellowship. However, his/her employer is not restricted to any particular organisation during the bond period.
