SML International Merit Scholarship at Heriot-Watt University in UK, 2016

School of Informatics offers up to ten SML International Merit Scholarship for the 2016-2017 academic session. Applicants of all nationalities are eligible to apply for this scholarship. It is awarded to undertake a postgraduate degree program.

Heriot-Watt University has established a reputation for world-class teaching and practical, leading-edge research, which has made us one of the top UK universities for business and industry.

All applicants who pay the overseas fee level, have accepted their offer of a place on a postgraduate taught programme in the School of Management and Languages. If English is not your first language a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent is required with all elements passed at 6.0 or above. Applicants who have previously successfully completed programmes delivered in English will be exempt from the above requirement subject to the submission of documentation. A minimum of one year of full-time study, employment or equivalent is required.

Course Level: Scholarships are provided for postgraduate studies at Heriot-Watt University.

Study Subject: Scholarships are offered over different departments across the School of Management and Languages, all offering a diverse range of courses.

Scholarship Award: The £2,000 scholarship is awarded as a fee abatement.

Eligibility: To be eligible to apply:
-All applicants who pay the overseas fee level, have accepted their offer of a place on a postgraduate taught programme in the School of Management and Languages, and have paid their deposit (where applicable) by 30th June 2016.

Nationality: International students can apply for these scholarships.

College Admission Requirement:

Entrance Requirement: Scholarships are for a postgraduate degree. All applicants who pay the overseas fee level, have accepted their offer of a place on a postgraduate taught programme in the School of Management and Languages. Applications from international students and accept qualifications from around the world.

Test Requirement: No

Postgraduate Scholarship

Supporting Material: Applicants will need to supply various documents to support your application. These include:
-a copy of your degree certificate and relevant transcripts
-proof of your ability in the English language (if English is not your mother tongue or if you have not already studied for a degree that was taught in English).
-references from two academic sources (applicants with relevant full time work experience may use their current employer as one of the referees – complete attached form)
-a copy of the photo page from your passport – this is only required if you are an international students who requires a visa to enter the UK
-a financial guarantee* to prove how your tuition fees and personal maintenance costs will be met – this is only required if you are one of the following:
-any Institute of Petroleum Engineering student applying to study on campus
-an international student who is not entering the UK on a Tier 4 visa
-an international student who is being sponsored by your government or a commercial organisation
-Postgraduate taught Masters students in the Institute of Petroleum Engineering also need to complete a supplementary application form.
