Susan Byrne Memorial Award
Applicants for the award must be:
* a degree graduate of a university or other degree granting institution in New Zealand or overseas;
* in an existing career or have had a previous career;
* intending to make a change in career;
* a citizen of New Zealand or permanent resident of New Zealand of at least five years;
* at least 35 years of age.
The field of study or research is unrestricted and the Award is tenable at any recognised New Zealand University, polytechnic or tertiary institution or through an overseas institution accredited by an agency established under the law of the host country. Evidence of such accreditation may need to be provided if the New Zealand Federation of Graduate Women does not know the standing of the institution.
The work must be undertaken while the applicant is resident in New Zealand.
The criteria upon which the selection of applicants will be made are:
* Academic ability; motivation for career change; personal goals; organisational skills.
* Value of the study to personal goals; to New Zealand.
