Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship Scheme Kerala State India: Applications are invited from the undergraduate and Post graduate (Arts & Science and humanities subjects) students belonging to
below poverty line families in Kerala who have joined the first year degree /PG course during the academic year 2008-09 in various government and aided Arts and Science colleges, department/institutions of various universities in Kerala for awarding Kerala State Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship scheme.
The scheme envisages award of 3000 scholarship to undergraduate courses and 1000 scholarship to P.G courses @Rs.10,000/- p.a.
Only those candidates who obtain at least 50% marks in aggregate in +2 equivalent and degree as the case may be will be eligible for the award of scholarship.
The total number of scholarship is distributed among the colleges, University department on the basis of the strength of the students in each college/University department. The details of scholarship allotted to each college/University department should be communicated to the concerned Principal/Head of the
Institution latter. The decision of the Special Officer for Scholarships is final and binding in this matter.
Out of this total number 10% shall be reserved for SC/ST students having eligibility to get scholarship in addition to their lump sum grant . For the students studying in undergraduate and P.G courses 10 numbers and 5 numbers scholarship respectively will be reserved for differentially abled and from students
excelling in sports and arts at State and National level.
Scholarship under this scholarship scheme will not be awarded to a student who receive any other scholarships /stipend for a course of study. But students belonging to SC/ST category
will be eligible to get this scholarship in addition to the lump sum grant granted by the SC/ST development department.
Only filled in application in prescribed form together with the following documents should be submitted to the Principal/Head of the Institution on or before 15/9/2008 and the Principal/Head of the Institution should forwarded the list of the selected candidates as per the guide lines with the approval of college council together with the application form to the Special Officer for Scholarships,Directorate of Collegiate Education (Annexe) Sanskrit College Campus,Palayam, Thiruvananthapuram so as to reach him on or before 30/9/2008 itself. Late applications will not be considered.
