The Bilfinger Berger Services Scholarship for Tomorrow’s Engineering Leaders (UGCA1200)

Closing Date 1 September 2008 for payment in the 2009 Academic Year. Applications are lodged in the year prior to final year of degree.

$5,000 (tax exempt) for one year only.

This Scholarship was established to support students undertaking their final undergraduate year final year thesis in one of the disciplines of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Chemical Sciences and Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW. Recipients of the scholarship are strongly encouraged to undertake 12 weeks of industrial training with Bilfinger Berger Services Australasia from December to the end of February, immediately prior to the Scholarship year.

Eligibility

Applicants must be full-time students who in 2009 are due to commence the last year of their undergraduate program and are anticipating working in their chosen profession on graduation. The scholarship is open to students undertaking a Bachelor of Engineering at the Kensington Campus of UNSW, in one of the disciplines of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Chemical Sciences and Engineering. Students undertaking a combined degree are eligible to apply.

Each applicant will be assessed on the basis of academic merit, demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, proven initiative and extra-curricular leadership activities.

The Scholarship recipient must maintain enrolment in a normal full-time load.

Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents.

The Scholarship recipient should not normally hold any other Scholarship or Award (except for Youth Allowance/Austudy) except with the permission of the UNSW Selection Committee.

An application form is available which must be completed and lodged together with any supporting documentation by the closing date. Please ensure that you have read and understood the application form and have included ALL requested information and documentation.

Applications which are late, incomplete or unsigned will not be accepted.
