The CREW Network Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence and is intended to help finance the educational endeavors of female undergraduate students enrolled in accredited real estate programs. Each scholarship recipient will also be provided with a paid internship at a commercial brokerage firm.

Scholarship Value:

Ten $10,000 scholarships are available to be awarded annually to junior or senior level undergraduate students to cover the costs of tuition and books.

Eligibility Requirements:

The applicant must be a female enrolled as a full-time student at a college or university with an accredited real estate program. Applications will also be considered if the applicant is a female enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university that does not have an accredited real estate program, but where the applicant is enrolled in business, finance, architecture, engineering, or other related field of study where it is the applicant’s intent to pursue a career in commercial real estate.

• The applicant must be of junior or senior standing.

• The applicant must have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Selection Criteria:

The selection shall primarily be based on merit and consideration shall be given to the following

factors:

• Academic record

• Commitment to a career within the commercial real estate industry

• Extracurricular activities

• History of employment

• Personal and professional references

• Practical experience in the field (internship or job)

• Noteworthy accomplishments (can be related to studies, community service, etc.)

• Written statement about career goals

Stipulations:

• Scholarship awards are made only for tuition and book expenses.

• Scholarship awards may be revoked at any time if a recipient’s academic work falls below the acceptable standards established by this award, or the student drops below “full-time” status.

• Each scholarship recipient must complete an internship at a commercial real estate brokerage firm during the summer following the academic year for which the scholarship grant was awarded.

• Scholarship recipients will be encouraged to contact a local CREW Network chapter and attend at least two meetings during the academic year for which the scholarship grant was awarded.

• Scholarship recipients will participate in the CREW Network eMentoring program during at least the 12 months following the grant of the scholarship.

• Scholarship recipients will become student members of CREW Network by submitting the appropriate application; membership is complimentary for the 12 months following the grant of the scholarship.

Application Deadline:

The application, including applicant’s transcripts and letters of recommendation, must becompleted and received in its entirety by CREW Network no later than 5:00 pm CDT,May 14, 2010. Unmarked materials will not be considered. Required materials are as follows:

• Application form including completed essay questions.

“ Please tell us about your interest in commercial real estate and your career objectives.Please include why you believe your interest and objectives make you uniquely qualified for the CREW Network Scholarship (less than 750 words).

“ The successful applicant for this scholarship will participate in a brokerage internship in commercial real estate. Please identify your experiences, skills, and personal attributes

that you believe will bring value to the employer and guarantee a successful internship for both parties (less than 500 words).

• Official copies of all collegiate grade records, certified by the registrar or other qualified college official.

• Two letters of recommendation submitted in envelopes marked “Confidential” and sealed by the reference with his/her signature over the seal. References should indicate how they know the applicant and why the applicant should be considered for this award. Both letters should be from professors or employers who know the applicant’s work. At least one of the letters should be from a professor in the applicable accredited real estateprogram or, if attending a university lacking an accredited real estate program, from a professor in the other related field of study.

Procedure:

• Each candidate completes the application in its entirety, signs the application form, and

sends the application form with letters of recommendation to the CREW Network’s office.

• The CREW Network Scholarship Selection Committee will do a preliminary review of

applications and give its recommendations to the CREW Network Board of Directors

for approval.

• The CREW Network Board of Directors will review the CREW Network Scholarship

Selection Committee’s recommendations and confer the scholarship awards.

• CREW Network will notify the selected recipients via phone call and letter. Applicants not selected will be notified via email.

• Award recipients will sign a GPA and internship agreement, and will send a quarterly

update of educational and internship status.

Scholarship Timing

• Applications sent to universities for distribution: December 15, 2009

• Deadline for applications: May 14, 2010

• Recommendations to CREW Network Board: June 4, 2010

• Board approval: June 9, 2010

• Award recipients notified: June 18, 2010

• Funds sent to recipients: August 2, 2010

• Recipients complete brokerage internship: Summer 2011

Administration

The Board of Directors of CREW Network will conduct the administration of the ScholarshipProgram and will have complete and final authority to confer or revoke scholarships and make other decisions pertaining to the use of funds in the Scholarship Program.
