DEVELOPMENT ECONOMIST/FELLOW – The Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES)
The University of the West Indies (Mona Campus), Jamaica
Candidates should have a PhD in Economics and should have a track record of research and publication on national, international and regional trade policy issues, be up to date with literature on current patterns of globalization, and have pursued research on topics related to development microeconomics.
The successful candidate should be comfortable with multidisciplinary approaches to the study of globalization, growth and development and be inclined to include gender issues in the discussion of trade and development and have a strong academic background in development micro and macro economics.
The successful candidate should also have substantial experience in graduate teaching, preferably in development macroeconomics and microeconomics.
The Development Economist/Fellow will report to the Director, SALISES and is expected to perform the following duties:
• Teaching postgraduate students
• Supervision of postgraduate students
• Research
