Job Description: Application are invited for the scholarship program 2o11.
Awarding Scholarships”, interested applicants may send their application forms and other relevant documents to this department on or before August 25, 2010.
Category ‘A’ Degree Program
a) Applicant for two-year Master program in the United States must have secured a minimum of 45% in the Bachelor or Postgraduate program. Partial Computer Course, Vocational course and Diploma from Non-University will not be accepted under Degree Program.
b) Applicant under this program must produce a copy of their TOEFL iBT score with a minimum of 95/120 for Degree applicants.
c) Degree applicants must produce GRE with a minimum score of 960/1600 and GMAT 550/800 after the selection.
d) Applicant should be born on or after July 1st, 1975.
Category ‘B’ Non Degree Program
a) Applicant must furnish an introductory letter from the Public Service Commission (PSC) stating that the applicant is currently a PSC appointed staff with the duration of services cited therein. Non CTA staff can also apply for this scholarship provided he/she gets an introductory letter from the concerned department/Settlement Office.
b) Applicant must produce the copy of their TOEFL iBT score with a minimum of 80/120 for Non Degree applicants.
c) Applicant for Non Degree program must have completed minimum of 5 years of community service. Certificate to this effect shall be obtained from the Head of CTA departments or other institutions or organization.
Procedure For The Submission of Applicationa & Criteria for Awarding Scholarships
1) Photocopy of the Applicant’s valid Registration Certificate (RC). Applicant without Registration Certificate from Nepal and Bhutan must obtain a letter from their respective Office of the Tibetan Freedom Movement (Bhod Rawang Denpai Legul) certifying that the applicant is a bonafide Tibetan refugee with a certification from the concerned Settlement
Officer.
2) Photocopies of the applicant and parents or spouse’s valid Green Book.
3) Applicants whose parents live in Tibet, Divorced or have passed away must produce certificate to this effect from the concerned Settlement Officer or Principal or Rector of the school having at least class 10 under the jurisdiction of the Department of Education.
4) Applicants for the two-year Master program in the United States must produce year-wise Mark Sheets and Certificates/Degrees showing successful completion of four-year of studies from any recognized universities after passing Class XII examination.
5) Photocopies of Academic Mark Sheets, Certificates/Degrees above Class X and other relevant documents must bear attestation of the concerned Settlement Officers or gazette2 CTA officer holding a least rank of Joint Secretary or Principal or Rector of the school having atleast class X under the Department of Education.
6) Fitness Certificate from the registered medical doctor or a recognized Traditional Tibetan doctor.
7) Each application form must be accompanied by bank draft of Rs. 50 for postage and processing fee drawn in favour of Tibetan Children’s Educational and Welfare Fund, (TCEWF), Dharamsala.
8) Candidates should clearly mention their category by marking A or B on the first page of the application form. An applicant can apply for only one category at a time. If any candidate applies in more than one category, applications of such candidate will not be considered.
9) As there is no provision for Identity Certificate (IC) extension for TSP candidates studying in the United States in recent times, applicants should make sure that they have their IC renewed or extended during the entire study period in advance.
10) It is cautioned that the US Embassy have denied the visa for TSP candidates who have their visa rejected earlier.
11) If the Applicant under Degree Program is serving in any institution, he or she should furnish No Objection Certificate from their respective officer.
12) The preliminary selection will be done in August 2010. All applicants approved by the HLSCto sit for the selection test will be notified to report for the same well in time.
13) If the application form is received before 14 days of the stipulated deadline, the Department will intimate the applicant of any incomplete documents.
14) Applicant must submit their two passport size photos along with the duly filled-in application form.
15) Applicants must look into Article VIII of Rules and Regulations for Selection of Tibetan candidates in India, Nepal and Bhutan for overseas scholarship in University and Research studies. The copy of the Rules and Regulations, Application form and Tibetan Syllabus can be downloaded from the Department’s website www.tcewf.org
16) The following 29 fields of studies is given in terms of broader area of studies and this does not reflect the intended study program that the universities in the United States offer. Therefore, Applicants should choose one major study program from any of the following field of studies as indicated. The fields of studies specified below were drawn based on the needs and the ones that could benefit the Tibetan government in exile or community

17) Candidates from the previous round of selection who have cleared the General Written Test in Tibetan (GWTT) and not qualified for the Interview can apply for this scholarship with an application written to this department before the stipulated deadline. However, they are waived from submitting the application forms and other relevant documents all over again.
