Tilburg University Scholarships for Academic Excellence in Netherlands, 2019

Tilburg University offers scholarships for academic excellence for the 2019-2020 academic session. Applicants of any nationality are eligible to apply for this scholarship. This is awarded to undertake (Research) Master’s program (MA, MSc or LLM) program.

University offers a number of general and subject-specific funding schemes. The aim of the scholarships is to attract the best and most motivated people to Netherlands.

Tilburg University is a public research university specializing in the social and behavioural sciences, economics, law, business sciences, theology and humanities, located in Tilburg in the southern part of the Netherlands. For the academic year 2019-2020, the Schools of Tilburg University have various scholarships available for excellent international students.

Candidates must be newly enrolled at Tilburg University and will need to prove their language proficiency before departure. For each language, there is a minimum CEFR level of proficiency that needs to be met.

Study Subject (s): Scholarships are awarded within the Tilburg Law School, Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Tilburg School of Humanities and Tilburg School of Catholic Theology.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for (Research) Master’s program (MA, MSc or LLM) at Tilburg University.

Eligibility:

-Tilburg Law Scholarship: Tilburg Law has two types of scholarships available for excellent international non-EEA students who are admitted to a (Research) Master’s program at Tilburg Law School (TLS). The TLS Global Scholarship is graduated from one of the listed universities. TLS Montesquieu Scholarship is for Non-EU/EEA students who are admitted to the prestigious LLM Research Master in Law.

-Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences Scholarship and Tilburg School of Humanities Scholarship: To qualify for a TSB Scholarship for Academic Excellence and Tilburg School of Humanities Scholarship for Academic Excellence, you must fulfill the following admission requirements, in addition to the regular requirements for admission to a Master’s program:
-Candidates must have been (unconditionally) admitted to one of the graduate programs at Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences for the academic year 2019-2020.
-Candidates must have achieved excellent study results in their relevant (under) graduate program. As an indication, the student must have graduated with an average result of at least 8 (out of 10) or must be among the top 10% of their class.
-To prove that you are an excellent student  you can send us a statement from your university saying that you belonged to the top 10% of your class or with your average grade. This is not necessary if your average grade is specified on your transcript of records.
-Candidates should fill in the Scholarship Application Form.
-Candidates must be newly enrolled at Tilburg University.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Tilburg University Scholarships are open for international students.

Scholarship Description: For the academic year 2019-2020 the Schools of Tilburg University have various scholarships available for excellent international students who are admitted to a (Research) Master’s program at Tilburg University (MA, MSc or LLM).

-TLS Global Scholarship: For the academic year 2019-2020 Tilburg Law has the TLS Global Scholarship available for excellent international non-EEA students who are admitted to a (Research) Master’s program at Tilburg Law School (TLS).
-Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences Scholarship: For the academic year 2019-2020 Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences has approximately 8 scholarships available for excellent international EU/EEA and non-EEA students who are admitted to a (Research) Master’s program at Tilburg School of Social and Behavioural Sciences (TSB).
-Tilburg School of Humanities Scholarship: For the academic year 2019-2020Tilburg School of Humanities has a number of scholarships available for excellent international EU/EEA and non-EEA students who are admitted to a (Research) Master’s program at Tilburg School of Humanities (TSH).
-TST Scholarship for Academic Excellence: Tilburg School of Catholic Theology offers one TST Scholarship for Academic Excellence to an outstanding non-EU student. The scholarship consists of a grant of € 5,000 to partially cover the student’s living expenses. The application deadline for the TST Scholarship for Academic Excellence is April 1. Please fill out the application form and upload it in our online application system MySAS.

 Number of award(s): For the academic year 2019-2020the Schools of Tilburg University have various scholarships available. Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences has approximately 8 scholarships and Tilburg School of Catholic Theology offers one TST Scholarship for Academic Excellence.

Duration of award(s): Tilburg University Scholarships for Academic Excellence are awarded for one academic year.

What does it covers?

-TLS Global Scholarship: The TLS Global Scholarship is a tuition fee waiver of 25% for students who graduated from one of the universities listed below. For the academic year 2019-2020, this means that students from these listed universities pay a tuition fee of € 10,500 (instead of the normal tuition fee of € 14,000).
-Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences Scholarship: The TSB Scholarship for Academic Excellence consists of a scholarship of € 5.000 to partially cover the living expenses of the students during their stay here in Tilburg. Additional to this, non-EEA scholarship students receive a partial tuition waiver (up to € 9.000 at a tuition fee of € 14.000,- / subject to change) .
-Tilburg School of Humanities Scholarship: EU/EEA students-The TSH Scholarship for Academic Excellence for EU/EEA students consists of a scholarship of € 5.000 to partially cover the living expenses of the students during their stay here in Tilburg. Non-EEA students-The TSH Scholarship for Academic Excellence for non-EEA students consists of a partial tuition waiver. In 2015/2016 this was a waiver of € 9.000, which left a tuition fee of € 4.000. The exact amounts for 2019-2020 will be published later this year.
 -TST Scholarship for Academic Excellence: The scholarship consists of a grant of € 5,000 to partially cover the student’s living expenses.

Selection Criteria: On the basis of the following selection criteria, the selection committee will select the recipients of the TSH Scholarship for Academic Excellence:
-The academic results in the relevant (under)graduate program
-The quality and content of the Scholarship Application Form
-The language test score
-Extracurricular activities

How to Apply: Students do not need to apply for TLS scholarship. All admitted students to the eligible master’s programme will receive the tuition fee waiver automatically. To apply for Scholarship for Academic Excellence you should:
-Download the Scholarship Application Form.
-State in the application form that you graduated with an average result of at least 8 (out of 10) in a relevant (under)graduate program, by providing your calculated GPA and/or proof that you belong to the top 10% of your class.
-Upload the Scholarship Application Form in our Online Application System MYSAS, together with your application for the Master’s program before the Scholarship deadline.

Scholarship Application Deadline: The application deadline is 1 April 2019.
