Eligibility:
Commitment to undertake a research project in HIV/TB prevention, care or treatment as part of their dissertation and to apply acquired knowledge to HIV/TB control
– Potential to handle the rigorous academic requirements of the programs applied for and abide by COHRE sponsorship terms of reference
-Conform to rules and regulations of the training institutions and maintain in good standing with the institution
– Committed to develop and maintain a productive career devoted to HIV or TB research, care and prevention
– Enhance research and public health activities with COHRE Training Program collaborating institutions The only Ugandan candidates eligible to apply are those with letters of admission to Makerere University or Mbarara University of Science and Technology for the academic year 2011/2012

Scholarship Description: The Uganda HIV/TB Clinical Operational and Health Services (COHRE) Training Program is based at Joint Clinical Research Centre (JCRC) and works through a collaboration of institutions which include: Makerere University College of Health Sciences, Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), Gulu University, National TB and Leprosy Program (NTLP), Kampala City Council (KCC), Case Western Reserve University USA and University of Georgia USA. It seeks to strengthen capacity in Uganda to conduct integrated clinical operational and health services research focused on HIV/TB prevention and care. One aspect of this training program is to provide advanced training to qualified candidates in health services and operational research
